We teamed up with Tors Equestrian and produced our very own tack balm ‘Oud la la’.
A natural and environmentally friendly product, containing nourishing and hydrating ingredients including beeswax which has waterproofing properties, leaving the leather looking revitalised.
A premium quality tack balm that leaves the leather smelling amazing with our lush aroma of Oud and lavender.
For best results, apply sparingly to clean dry leather using a sponge. Massage into leather in circular motions then buff with a microfibre cloth.

I have found the Alva neem shampoo to be so effective. It really helps to soften the scabs and it brings him up so white. The skin looks much healthier and the scabs drop off with easy and no soreness.

Ticks are known to cause local skin and tissue irritation, which can result in the horse constantly rubbing on trees or fences, resulting in hair loss, hair coat damage and transmit a number of serious diseases.
Ticks are not species-specific so the same ticks that feed on your horse can also feed on you or your dog.

Ticks are blind and find their hosts by detecting ammonia which is given off by a horses breath and body during sweeting or by sensing heat, moisture and vibrations. They wait for a host while resting on the tips of grasses and shrubs with their first pair of legs outstretched. When the horse brushes by the tick quickly climbs aboard. Some ticks attach immediately while others move around the horses body looking for an area where the skin is thinner. That’s why ticks are 𝐦𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐧 𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐡𝐨𝐫𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐦𝐮𝐳𝐳𝐥𝐞,𝐜𝐡𝐞𝐬𝐭, 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐲, 𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐢𝐫 𝐟𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐤. The result is often a local skin reaction that appears as a small firm nodule. Once filled with blood the tick drops off to molt and progress to the next stage of their life cycle or in the case of adult females, lay eggs.

Ticks are infected with serious diseases and do not usually transmit those pathogens immediately and often must feed for a period of time before disease transmission, removing them from your horse as soon as possible is important.
Check your horse daily for ticks, thoroughly after a ride and at least once a day if they are out at grass in order to prevent disease transmission. Often it is easier to feel ticks than see them. Scratch the horses skin in areas where the ticks are likely to attach with your finger tips for small bumps that may indicate a small immature tick, these are regally difficult to see.

Preventing ticks is always better than having to remove them and this is where AlvaProtect comes in. ✨

AlvaBarrier is a spray or sponge on product, conditioning and protecting the skin and fur, reducing the problems caused by the mud and rain. AlvaBarrier is suitable for all breeds, colours and types of horses.

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘥𝘪𝘧𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘵?
It’s not a heavy oil based product, this means that it still allows the skin to breathe and won’t clog hair follicles.
You don’t need to wash the product off after use and when baths time does come around, it’s not filled with endless scrubbing and still feeling like the oil is clinging to the coat.
In addition it helps prevent bog burn by protecting the feathered legs from becoming brittle.

Upon application to the hair and skin, AlvaBarrier forms a protective film on the surface while still allowing the skin to “breathe”. Oxygen, nitrogen, and other nutrients can still pass through the film. However, AlvaBarrier does not allow water to pass through, which is an ideal quality for preventing dry, dehydrated skin. Containing essential oils, such as tea tree oil to help ensure the skin does not become irritated. This product is a winter must have, especially to protect against skin conditions such as rain-scald or mud fever.

☔️ For best results, we recommend the first application to be applied on a clean coat. Apply regularly for the first week and then as often as required depending on the weather and ground conditions. ☔️

Calms, insect bites and stings, and it’s also very beneficial in helping to ease the effects of sunburn, heat and nettle rash and helping to maintain healthy skin.

It is wildly used to help horses recover from mud, fever and other problems caused by wet weather.
This pony has Dermatophilosis as a result from standing in water/mud for long periods of time. Whilst the hair had fallen away there were no scabs or skin breakage, initially she was washed in AlvaTeaTree shampoo leaving the area clean. AlvaMiracle cream was applied and left to soak in overnight.
In the morning before turnout, AlvaBarrier is sprayed to protect the legs from the mud and wet during the day whilst allowing the skin to breathe. When bought back in from the field in the evening the legs are hosed and dried to reapply the cream to moisturise, tone damaged skin and help prevent any bacterial infections.
