We still have some gorgeous and sweet AKITA puppies from our latest litter who are looking for their forever home❤️!

Puppies are extensively-socialized, grow up in the living room within our pack of dogs and are crate trained.

We breed according to the guidelines of the FCI, Raad van Beheer, NIPPON INU and NVAI. Puppies come with pedigree and are fully vaccinated!

The little Akita star in this picture is our sweet and handsome red male, Hiroshi🦊🩵.
The name Hiroshi means generosity and abundance😊. A perfect name for this sweet boy who has filled our hearts with warmth and joy!

Yuzuru is our little surprise😊. He was born when we least expected it! His name means "to give," and that's exactly what he is: a gift and a blessing we never saw coming✨️. From the moment he arrived, he's been filling our lives with joy and love, reminding us that sometimes the best things happen unexpectedly❤️🥰.

Van harte welkom bij MINATO MOKUM😁!

Wij zijn een kleinschalige hobbymatige kennel gelegen in het mooie, door bos omgeven Soesterberg (het midden van Nederland, tussen Amersfoort en Utrecht). Wij fokken Japanse Akita’s🦊 en Shiba’s🦊.
Ons motto: met een uitstekende basis en de perfecte match, creëren we samen een prachtig hondenleven voor onze pups.
Ons einddoel: een blij gezin met een mooie, gezonde, stabiele hond die zich veilig voelt en optimaal kan functioneren binnen onze maatschappij.

Vanuit onze achtergrond in de kynologische gedragstherapie en gezondheidszorg vinden wij naast dat wij fokken met topshowkwaliteit honden, goede fysieke maar ook zeker mentale gezondheid heel erg van belang.
Het zorgen voor een goede gezondheid begint al ver voor de geboorte. Het start al bij de opvoeding, selectie en verzorging van de ouderdieren en gaat verder tijdens de geboorte en gedurende de begeleiding van de eerste weken in het leven van het nest.
Daar stopt het niet, om tot een stabiele (fysiek en mentaal) gezonde hond te komen is het belangrijk dat eigenaren dit proces thuis verder voortzetten. Dit uiteraard met onze begeleiding en uitgebreide ondersteuning.

Onze pups groeien verrijkt op en worden uitgebreid gesocialiseerd.
Wij werken volgens de laatste wetenschappelijke inzichten (ENS, Sam Turner, positieve bekrachtiging, Do as I Do, Polyvagaal theorie) en zorgen voor een fijne, veilige omgeving (met veel soorten stimuli), waarin goed gedrag beloond wordt. We besteden veel aandacht aan emoties en keuzevrijheid. Dit alles zorgt voor een positieve leeromgeving waarin de honden zich prettig voelen.

Al onze honden leven met ons in huis. Pups groeien vanzelfsprekend op in de woonkamer. Wij hebben naast Japanse honden ook andere rassen (Golden Retriever, Cocker Spaniel & Chihuahua) en diersoorten (konijnen en katten) binnen onze roedel.
Omdat Japanse honden zeker niet voor iedereen en iedere situatie geschikt zijn, werken wij met een selectieprocedure.

De pupjes van het huidige nest zijn op dit moment 13 weken oud en zijn klaar om te verhuizen naar nieuwe baasjes. We hebben zowel teefjes als reutjes beschikbaar🩵🩷.

Throwback Thursday🕰✨️!

Some of you have been following us since day one—12 June 2018—the day I picked up my first Japanese dog, Shiba Genseiko of Tai Yuan Taiwan, a.k.a. Kuma ❤️ from 🥰. Back in the day, our Instagram account was .yori🦊.

I fell head over heels in love with Japanese dogs, and more than six years later, I couldn’t be happier with how much our family has grown. We’ve met so many wonderful people along the way, and I’d love to meet many more 😊! The love for dogs has proven to be a uniting factor🥰.

We’re going to keep spreading the love for these gorgeous breeds even further ❤️, with big plans for 2025 🦊! More about that later...

Wilma, thank you for initially sharing your love for these wonderful dogs with me🥰. I’m so grateful for your trust and the bond we’ve built.

Minato Mokum Yuzuru may have been the smallest boy in the litter, but he's making a big comeback! Born last and unexpectedly, Yuzuru has quickly proven himself to be a brave little soul with a quiet confidence and a fluffy exterior. Together with his brother Makoto, he’s one of the fluffiest puppies in the pack—small, but undeniably tough🧸.

Yuzuru’s calm and cuddly nature makes him perfect for those quiet moments of affection, but don’t let that fool you—he's as bold as he is snuggly. Though he’s unfazed by new experiences, he also has a playful side that loves adventure❤️. This little guy may be small, but his heart and spirit are anything but!

From the very beginning, her gentle and kind nature has made her stand out. She’s an absolute cuddle bug, always eager for interaction and affection❤️.

Miharu’s playful personality is evident in every wag of her helicopter tail and the way her airplane ears perk up with excitement. Her joyful energy is contagious, brightening any room she enters. She’s already stole the heart of her Aunt Laura 🧸🤭💗!

We take our puppies with us on daily walks and use the environment and people we meet for socialisation. If you see us with our stroller AND you're a sweet & safe, puppy, loving person, come say hi!

About last weekend☀️:
Minato Mokum Momotaro (handled by Atle) achieved his third 1st place Excellent in the Youth Class and became Best Junior at the Outdoor Dog Show ‘De Utrecht 2024’,
With this wonderful result, he earned his Dutch Junior Championship title🎉🎉🎉! We are super proud of our Minato Mokum star! As a breeder, it’s a dream come true🤩🤩🤩! .inu

Momotaro is the first Shiba and the second Minato Mokum bred dog to obtain this title. His big Akita brother, Kosuke, obtained this title last winter😁.

As a young breeder, I couldn’t be prouder of these two beautiful boys and their owners🥰!

Well behaved girl at the vet! ⚠️ BE CAREFULL WITH TIC/FLEE PREVENTION ⚠️ Unfortunately Mushu got an allergic reaction after application of Vectra 3D. We washed her several times, it didn't got better so we went to the vet. Mushu got a corticosteroid injection, that unfortunately didn't work as much as needed. She is now on anti-itch tablets. It's under control now, but how terrible it was to see her in terrible discomfort and not being able to help😱. The rest of the pack got the same Vectra 3D batch and are luckily completely fine... but still I am thinking about changing to natural tic/flee prevention for multiple reasons. This stuff has its side effects on nature as well🥴. For sure Mushu isn't going to get any of the conventional brands anymore. What is your method for flee/tic prevention? Do you use Vectra 3D, Bravecto, Advocate, etc? Do you have tips and tricks for us for natural flee/tic prevention?
