Update Tikvah
We would like to let everyone know how things are progressing with Tikvah.
Unfortunately, the infection that set in shortly after she arrived progressed. Her foster mom was doing everything she could as directed but unfortunately, the severity of the surgery and her weakened state at the time, took a toll. We want to stress how amazing her foster mom was at doing everything necessary. We are incredibly thankful for her.
Tikvah is spending another few days and nights in hospital at Pembina Vet where she will receive the best possible care.
The staff absolutely adores her, and we are extremely grateful for the care she is receiving.

Hi, I’m Kevin! I’m an 6 year old chihuahua. I arrived here at my Foster home 3 weeks ago and quickly bonded with my foster Mum. The dad or oldest kid is the next best thing if Mum isn’t home. I like to sleep in your bed and especially under the covers. I hope it’s ok if I snore!

I arrived house trained and last week I started to lead Mum to the back door and cry when I was ready to go out so she could stop guessing! I do well on a leash and enjoy short walks but I’m also happy being lazy around the house. When I go outside I often do my business and come right back in, especially on the colder days. You might need to get me a sweater for winter!

I don’t like to be approached from behind so please greet me face to face. The best way to earn my trust is to lie on the ground at my level! I’m quiet for the most part but I will bark and growl to protect Mum when people come over to the house! The kids here are ok but I get really nervous if they’re loud or chasing each other around the house. It’s taken me a few weeks to get used to the 3 year old but I did let him pet me this weekend so I’m coming around to the little one too. I would do best in a house with older kids or no kids.

If Mum is cooking I like to guard the kitchen, I want to be the first to swipe any scraps that might fall. Sometimes I chase balls and roll them around with my teeny paws like a cat. I get really excited to see you every time you come home from being away! You’ll know I’m excited by my tail wagging like crazy and my dancing feet! Mum even gets kisses from me! Give me a chance, I promise I’ll be excited to see you come home furever!

Hi, I'm Brewski the brindle pup! Don't let my teeny tiny size fool you, my heart is huge and just waiting to love my new family. Will it be you?? My favourite things are toys and SNUGGLES, I will climb right into your arms and cuddle, any time of day. My foster family is teaching me lots of things; like how to use the p*e pads for going potty, how to stay away from the bigger dogs while they eat, that some cats like me and some don't.... and they're always telling me how soft and handsome I am. I'm 8 weeks old and growing but my Jack Russel/Chihuahua mommy is only about 10lbs so I'm not going to be a big guy. They think my daddy was probably a dachshund. To keep me safe, I'll need a home with a fence, only older children, and if you have dog siblings for me they should be smaller or have experience being gentle with small dogs. Want more cuteness? Hi everyone, Soda here! I'm sweet like soda pop and my bubbly, outgoing personality makes everyone around me smile. Do you want to be my new best friend? I love to explore, play with toys and cuddle up to give gentle kisses to the humans. I am learning so quickly at my foster home. Not to brag, but I was the first of my litter to know how to go potty on the p*e pads! I showed my brothers how it's done. I have been curious about the kitties and 3 other dogs at my foster home. Meet Twilight!

Twilight is an extremely intelligent 18 month old Border Collie/Lab cross. She's high energy, learns very quickly and LOVES training.
Twilight would excel at flyball, agility, trick classes and rally obedience. She has excellent recall, is house trained and crate trained. She will go into her crate with the command "kennel up".

We have no information on how she is with cats, however she has high prey drive for squirrels, so cat home not recommended. Due to Twilight's energy level, we recommend only older children over 12.
Twilight has some peculiar behaviours that can be "off putting" if you don't understand her. When she's very excited, she will play bow, bark pretend charge and click her teeth. It is NOT aggression. It's just her way of playing.
She is great with other dogs, allowing for a gentle introduction. Her hair on her back will raise up (pilatory er****on) when she is excited, but it's purely stimulation. If Twilight becomes overly excited, she is easily calmed down with a firm vocal correction.
She loves attention, is very cuddly, and will fetch the ball and bring it right back to you. Twilight excels with clicker training.

Hi my name is Jasper and i’m a 1 year old month old Border Collie and Great Pyrenees cross. I am ready to meet my forever family!

I’m a timid, shy guy, but once I start getting comfortable I become my cuddly quirky self. I love playing outside with toys and running around getting zoomies in the field. I’m living in my foster family’s house in the country right now and love this lifestyle. Right now I am crate trained and house trained.

I like to be busy with toys and bones. I am a little scared of men and take a bit of time to warm up to them. In my forever home I will require someone who exercises me daily, and a fenced in yard. It would be best to be in a home that is calm as I do not like chaos and am a creature of comfort. My recall has been very good and my magic word is “here”. I’m slowly coming out of my shell day by day and can’t wait to make more progress. I am walking on a leash now but still get spooked and need to be rewarded with some treats to keep me going. I am a fast learner and food motivated. My momma tells me I'm very smart and I'm going to be a great dog for someone who has time to love me and show me a good life. I am not recommended for young children and we do not know how I am with cats.

Who is this super cute bundle of energy? It's Bugsy!!

Bugsy is a sweet 10lb package of fun who is about a year and half old. Don't even try to guess his mix! We think he's a Pomeranian/Corgi mix but really, we aren't sure. One thing we are sure about is that he's a 100% pure bred fun guy! He loves to be busy and really loves long walks. He is great with other dogs, kids and cats. Bugsy walks wonderfully on leash and is working on his recall. He has quite the prey drive for a little fella, and can be quite distracted by squirrels and birds on his walks or in the yard. A fenced yard is required.

He loves to play and really loves playing with toys and balls. He is an amazing companion for car rides! Just buckle him in and he will be your co-pilot! He would excel with a doggy playmate as he loves to play and having one in his forever home, close to his age/energy, would be ideal. He is in foster care with another dog who is a senior and he tires her out! He is considered high energy, but does have an off button when he is properly exercised/stimulated and loves to cuddle. Bugsy is house trained, crate trained and an all around fun guy. If you are looking for a fun, active energetic pal, Bugsy is your guy!

Meet Ella!
Ella is a stunning 2 year old spayed female Mini Aussie. She is very sweet and energetic.
Once bonded, she is fantastic off leash and comes when called. HOWEVER! Ella does have some fear and trust issues.
FENCED YARD IS A MUST.
She's excellent with other dogs and cats although when she is on leash she can be reactive with other dogs. This will require time and understanding to fix.
Ella will ONLY be adopted to a home with dog experience. We believe once she is bonded, she would love to do agility or rally. Ella loves to play ball! She does not require crating, is good on leash, and is completely house trained.

We have some very sad news.
Sweet little Peanut, one of the severely neglected poodles, lost her babies last night. Due to her neglect and starvation, the 3 little ones were premature and could not survive. We are extremely thankful that she is going to be okay. Many thanks to her foster mom Tracy McKay for getting her quickly to
