Nani is GOING HOME!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
After almost 2 weeks of hospitalization, Nani is GOING HOME!!!! 🎉🎉🎉
We were ECSTATIC to see this little lady head home to her loving family after spending almost 2 weeks with us...and as you can imagine, it was pretty emotional for EVERYONE!
Nani was brought to our hospital from her boarding facility with shallow breathing, low heartrate, and lethargy. Nani was having an anaphylactic reaction and our emergency care team immediately started treatment to stabilize her. While consulting with our board-certified Internal Medicine Specialist, Dr. Fitzpatrick, our team discovered that Nani had high levels of bilirubin, low platelets, and was anemic. Nani's condition was incredibly serious.
After receiving treatment and oxygen therapy, Nani slowly began to improve and was ready to go home. Our medical team gave Nani and her family a very special surprise as they left the hospital! 🎉 Please help us in sending a GIGANTIC CONGRATULATIONS to Nani and her family! ❤

Penny is heading home!
There is nothing we love more than caring for a pet and seeing how great they feel as they leave our hospital and return home to their loving family! ❤️ There were happy tails and hearts as Penny headed home after receiving care from our medical team for vomiting after she ate a plateful of muffins, with the wrappers.
Thank you to Penny's family for entrusting us with her care and sending us this wonderful video of all the happiness. 😁
Remy is back visiting our oncology department for his 6-week treatment for his oral tumor. We are happy to report he is doing GREAT and has become quite the master of convincing his oncology team that he needs lots of snacks...and he has some pretty impressive catching skills with them too!
Phoebe is Ready for Her Oncology Check-Up!
We aren't sure who's happier to see whom....Oncology nurse, Liz or Phoebe as she waited for her oncology check-up. Phoebe was diagnosed with Lymphoma in April 2020 and over the last 2 years has developed quite a bond with our team...as we have for her. Phoebe continues to feel great and live life to the fullest and we are all so incredibly happy for her and her mom! Keep it up, Phoebe!

Fiona Update
We were thrilled to receive this update and video from Hoping Fur a Home on little Fiona after she was seen at VES/VSC for lameness in her hind legs. "This is our little Fiona. After about two weeks of rest she is running and playing like a normal puppy on all four legs. She also regained the use of her bladder and is no longer incontinent. Thank you for always being there when we need you!!!" Keep it up, Fiona! Sweet, little Bell was a farm kitten found with lacerations on her legs and abdomen. Thankfully, she was brought into VES where Dr. Dana King stitched up all of her wounds. As you can see, she is doing great and will go home to her new family later today!
Sterling is a 10 year old MN Australian Shepherd that presented to the Beltline Animal Hospital with sudden paralysis of the left hindleg. He was immediately transferred to VES Middleton for neurological examination. Our doctors determined this was most likely to be a FCE (fibrocartilaginous embolism - similar to a blood clot) or an intervertebral disc extrusion. If it were a disc, a spinal surgery would be indicated; if an FCE, strict rest is enforced. A CT was offered to distinguish the two, but the owners elected to treat conservatively hoping this was an FCE. And from the incredible recovery - it sounds like they made the right choice!
From Sterling's owner - "I could never thank you enough for the above and beyond excellent care that you had for my handsome boy Sterling. The patience you showed for all of our questions and concerns was so awesome. I know most people would not have wanted to endure the process/healing of a FCE but Sterling is so worth it. Everyday he inspires me, he has come along way in 5 weeks and I know we will have a full recovery shortly. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!! but I don't know if that covers how grateful we all are!!"
