Baby Dolly sees snow for the first time☃️🐮 3 years ago today, I took Dolly out to see the magical snow🥰 #snow #cow #agriculture #baby
I fell for you… 🐮❤️ #cows #animals #agriculture
Yesterday afternoon, Dolly walking to her paddock after milking! 🥛
Buttercup cuddles few days ago💙🐮 #petcow #baby #cow
This evening I let all 3 girls have some bonding time😍
So this is the first time I’ve let them all loose together. I don’t think Dolly even knew that her child was right there with her?!
The babies ran around the field with excitement to have a new mate and Dolly was a bit shy and not sure what to do😅🐮💕
Chomp chomp chomp🐮🌱 Breakfast this morning in the garden💕 #cow #baby
They say people don’t have a favourite child, but we do😅 I love all 3 of my cows very much but Dolly will always be my first love❤️
Chilling with my babies💕🐄🐈 #petcow #baby #animal
Hope you all love this video of Bella and Buttercup enjoying their time in my garden🐮🥰

That’s my happy Dolls today🥰🐮🥰
I decided to buy another Peach Teats bottle from Pasturetec so I can now feed these two cuties at the same time! 🐮💖 This video was a few days ago because I’m currently away this week… Updates have been slow- sorry!
Dolly’s first day out at grass with the milking herd 🌱🐄
Grass is ultimately the best food, especially for Dolly now she has started her first lactation and requires more energy to produce milk🥛
She seemed quite happy with her new friends!
The challenge now will be establishing her place in the pecking order⭐️
Every herd of cows has a social hierarchy and when a new cow joins, they will need to find their place on the ladder🪜
As a youngster with her old friends at our previous farm, Dolly was always one of the most confident in her group.
She even showed this when we arrived here back in November last year to new cows she had never met.
Straight away Dolly would boss the others- especially when I was around because she did not want anyone else to have my attention!
Dolly has lived with smaller groups of no more than 90 cows before, and these would have been similarly sized… but her new friends are a group of over 300 girls. Most of which will be bigger and already have their place in the pecking order.
This large herd she has entered is a whole new level however I am not worried at all about Dolly being pushed out.
I know her so well to be a bossy, stubborn and confident girl. She will find her place at the top somewhere😏
Also, if you’re wondering where her calf is?!
Little baby (who I have not named yet) is still in the stable where she was born. I have since mucked it out, and freshly bedded down. My plan is that this is where baby will live until she is weaned in a few months. I am feeding her milk 2/3 times a day on the bottle 🍼
Currently, Dollys calf is the only baby that we have here on the farm. So I will soon be getting another calf as a playmate so she won’t be on her own for much longer💖

Baby is learning to feed🥰
This was a precious moment today💕🐄
Here is a video of me this evening hand milking Dolly into my Peach Teats bottle. Little baby was struggling to latch onto her, so this is a great way to get that goodness out of Dolly and into the calf 💖
As you can see, Dolly stood very still for me. She did the same thing when her baby was trying to latch on. Clever girl understands that her baby needs her milk🥛🐮
Little baby was very eager to drink on our favourite Peach Teats 🥰 She loves the taste of that colostrum!
You can see she hadn’t been licked dry yet due to only being 1 hour old.
Dolly has been an amazing mother, and after a couple of hours the baby was all fluffy and dry🤩
I have another post of me hand milking Dolls for tonight after this one, and I will try to post a few more times tomorrow with different things.
Facebook only allows me to upload 1 video at a time!
Keep an eye out🐄
We had a visitor for Dolls today!
Mother came to paint and decorate the bathroom with me and we had lots of cuddles with Dolly too🥰
…Still waiting for baby🐄❤️
Cleaning and maintaining herself 🧼
Dolly has been licking her belly constantly today, more than usual. This makes me think that it might be a sign that her calf is changing position. I can’t be certain on this, and there’s not a lot of research on it. But she seems more irritated today around her belly area.
This video was from early this evening⭐️
So here we have a video of Dolly’s udder yesterday. The development has sped up drastically over the last few days, so much so that I was getting a bit concerned🥺
I have asked for a couple of second opinions, and we’ve all agreed that it’s looking like she will calve before her due date!
The current due date is 19th February, which is still 24 days away. However looking at this udder, she has bagged up a lot. It looks like Dolly may calve within the next week to 10 days😱
Heifers are very unpredictable when it comes to having their first baby.
Where as cows are easier to judge because they’ve been through the process before. You can normally tell when a cow will calve within 24 hours or less. Heifers can just surprise you😅
It’s going to be a waiting game now, I’m nervous in hope that everything goes well😬
Obviously I’m very excited too- including everyone else who loves her!🥰
Tomorrow I should have the stable ready for her to go into, and there she will have everything she needs whenever she is ready to pop🐮
It’s the 19th January… which means Dolly is due to calve 1 month today😱😍
Little video of her snoozing here😊
