This photo was taken 5 years ago today✨
It’s been 5 years since we took a chance and started a dog daycare in the tiniest blue house with the biggest yard in Ballard.
“You’re good at this! Go post some flyers.” C**t encouraged me. I remember posting them, waiting a couple days, and then driving around to see if anyone had pulled any of the little tabs at the bottom I had cut by hand. Before I knew it, I got a text, then an email, and in a blink of an eye I couldn’t keep up, and neither could Luna! I can remember the first dogs of our pack like it was yesterday. Ranger, Sunny, Indy, Leo, Ace, Maverick, Tuna, Kaia, Marble, Nellie, Wedge, Nina, Eddie, Chase, Teddy, Levi, Chaussette, Burton, Mia, and Bernie. Want to know their breeds? I could list those off too! I’ve bonded with puppies and have watched them grow into adults. I’ve loved and grieved senior dogs. I’ve seen couples get engaged, married, and pregnant! This has been the most rewarding and emotional career of my life.
We would’ve never been able to start any of this without our special girl, Luna. She helped other dogs feel comfortable, she helped them learn how to “dog”. She helped keep the energy of the packs manageable. She worked every single day with me for a solid year.
We also wouldn’t have made it without our lifelong friends and family who believed in us and came to help when we needed it. I am forever grateful for all of your support.
The support from our community has also been overwhelming. Those that have stayed with us through different locations, or have still sent words of encouragement after you’ve moved away, thank you.
Between C**t’s dad building play structures, and his mom painting them. Or my mom coming and working shifts on the weekends when we needed an extra hand. Not to mention, our toddler, April, running down the hallway ready to greet whichever dogs we have in that given day. Luna’s Landing is truly a family run business. Although our path has been far from easy, I’m beyond proud of what we created and who we are today. Our team members, our dogs and their family’s, our transparency and professionalism. I’m just so proud and thankful for it all. 🥹
