Your kitty isn't fat. It's the primordial pouch.

Você sabia que isso na barriga dos gatos não é gordura?🤔Isso é o que chamamos de "Bolsa Primordial".

A bolsa primordial é uma espécie de flacidez abdominal, mas não tem nada a ver com excesso de gordura. Este "excesso" de pele, que balança quando os gatos andam, é uma herança de seus ancestrais.

A bolsa primordial desempenha 3 interessantes funções:

1) Proteção: esta pele extra funciona como um escudo de proteção para os órgãos vitais localizados nesta região. E pode ser muito útil durante uma briga, especialmente porque os gatos costumam virar de barriga pra cima em alguns momentos nas brigas, utilizando as patas traseiras para chutar seu oponente.

2) Flexibilidade: o excesso de pele nesta região permite que a barriga possa se esticar mais e facilitar os habituais movimentos em saltos e corridas.

3) Expansão do abdome: a bolsa primordial também ajuda a expandir o abdome, permitindo aos gatos o armazenamento de quantidades grandes de alimento. Claro, essa função é mais útil na natureza para felinos selvagens, onde eles podem ficar vários dias sem encontrar uma potencial caça e quando encontram acabam precisando ingerir grandes volumes de alimento.
