In an attempt to ensure you have crystal clear water next year you need to plan ahead. I know on the pellets you buy it often says feed twice a day, but they are trying to sell them. I recommend twice a week only throughout the winter, only increasing to every day when the green returns to the trees, around march or April. Remove leaves blown in regularly before the mush up and sink to the bottom. Cut back and remove any plants that have died or gone brown and fallen in to the water. All these add unwanted nutrients that produce wanted greenery in the water.
So now is time to take action to ensure your pond remains algae free in 2019. If you wait until the long sunny days and hot weather it will be too late, prevention is better than cure. We recommend you buy a 2 pack pond treatment "Revive my Pond". Pack one, put in now, will absorb the excess nutrients in the water over winter. Then replace it with pack 2 in May or June and your pond will remain algae free. last year we had a massive increase in biodiversity with water boatmen, frogs , snails etc all proliferating, because there was no algae.
