Cute little Dale is confused about still not getting any applications 😭 we can’t believe it. This guy is a perfect man! He can free roam without chewing and uses his litter box religiously. He’s all dressed up in his holiday best hoping his forever family will notice him. Is it you?!

Please meet our new girl, Noel.

A local shelter asked us about taking her because she was skinny. We were on an intake freeze until next year, but we knew we couldn’t NOT help. When we arrived to pick her up, we found an emaciated bun. She went directly from the shelter to our vet, where we did a plethora of tests, bloodwork, X-rays, ec, f***l to see what the underlying cause was. Everything came back negative, and we found that this sweet pea was literally just starved.

She was dumped in a park and since it’s quite cold here in Utah, the grass and ground were frozen so she had nothing to eat. The shelter offered a diet of Timothy hay, which was great, but she really needed pellets and other foods to help. Since she’s moved into her foster home, she’s been chowing down and has already gained almost 1 kg!! She is the sweetest girl and doesn’t hate a good cuddle sesh. We weren’t planning on a new bun and tons of testing, so if you are able to donate something to help us cover her past and future care we would be so grateful!

We have some good news and some bad news.

The bad news: the very first pair of bunnies we ever adopted have been returned.

The good news: our screening process has grown and improved by leaps and bounds since our first adoption, and we are confident we can find them an even better home.

Cinder and Shadow, English Angora rabbits, came from the huge case that inspired us to start a rabbit rescue. They were living at another farm “rescue” in tons of their own f***s, matted to the point they couldn’t fully move, and in tiny cages. They are the sweetest pair of brothers who look to each other for love and comfort. They are sweet to humans despite what they’ve been through in the past. They have lived with a smaller, bun-savvy dog and done well. Their current foster home has cats and dogs and so far so good!

These two could easily fit into most households, but they do require a lot of extra grooming and clipping. That’s something we can help you learn, but you must be able to dedicate the time.

Message us if you’re interested in meeting these boys!

THANK YOU for following along with us on this and meeting some of our most recent medical cases. Our final photo is Toffee, who is healing so nicely from being hit by a car. He will go in for his eye enucleation this weekend.

We are THRILLED to announce that we raised $1,175 today between all platforms. That is before our $750 donation matching. We can’t wait to pay off some vet bills! Thanks again for playing a critical role in our mission. We’re so grateful to our True Hearts fam! đŸ€

If you’ve been following along, you may have noticed we mentioned we had an emergency last weekend.

Goji, one of mama Blackberry’s babies, jumped a gate in his foster home two Sundays ago and got in a tiny scuffle with the resident buns through the fence, which resulted in a paper cut sized scratch on his lip. We put him on antibiotics and pain meds as a precaution, and he was doing well.

We received a very worrying text from his foster last Friday that sounded like he had majorly declined. We immediately called our vet and had an emergency appointment booked less than three hours later.

When Goji got to the vet, he was unable to stay upright or hop and was extremely painful in his abdomen. He also had a fever over 105 degrees and had lost quite a bit of weight. His bloodwork showed that he was septic. He was immediately places on an iv and received meds and cooling measures. An xray showed an impacted cecum, but we decided to hospitalize him and give him time to try to fight.

Early on Saturday morning, we received news that he was doing well, but within a few hours he began exhibiting neurological symptoms and we had to end his suffering.

Our hearts are broken over Goji’s passing because had he been seen by our vet a day or two earlier, it’s likely he would have made a recovery, but by Friday too many things had gone wrong.

We were able to give him the best fighting chance because of our donors, and we and our vet did everything possible to save him.

We hope to save many more bunnies to honor Goji’s loss.

Next up is this little guinea pig girl! We don't intake guinea pigs or normally even have the capability to help them, but we saw a local shelter post her and knew we had to help. After arranging rescue for her with our friends at Best Friends, we paid for vetting, sedated abscess removal, and medicine so that she could be comfortable while she waited for her transport.

Every animal deserves the best care no matter what size they are! This little sweet pea was so friendly and happy. She did not deserve the treatment she previously received, and we are thrilled we got to play a big role in her journey back to health. This cost us $400, and we were only able to say "yes" to her because of you guys. Please help us continue to help.

The first bunny we're featuring in our match fundraiser is Rambo. Rambo is also our "cover boy" for the fundraiser.

We were messaged by a concerned human who saw a post in another group about Rambo being given away for free. He is a senior (10 years old!!) Netherland Dwarf who had never lived indoors or visited a vet. Of course we knew we had to help to make sure he received proper care for whatever amount of time he has left!

We had Rambo evaluated by our vet, and he was able to be neutered and vaccinated right away. His biggest issue was that his tooth has been growing into his nose/roof of mouth for years :(

Last weekend, Rambo was finally able to have dental surgery and have that pesky tooth removed so that he can eat comfortably. He's currently in a foster to adopt home working on being bonded to a female who recently lost her previous bondmate. For a rabbit who has never seen another bunny in 10+ years, he's doing great. Please help us continue to provide the best quality of care for neglected buns.

December!! Can you believe it?!

We have more exciting news about tomorrow. A very generous anonymous donor has agreed to match $750 in donations. If we can meet this goal, it will help cover our emergency expenses from this last weekend. We’ll be posting some of our special medical cases tomorrow who you guys haven’t met yet, so stay tuned!

This is Cranberry looking handsome and glowy for the holiday season 💡
