Brie & Snow 💜❤️ 12 weeks old and so full of personality. The two are drastically different from each other. Brie loves to be out in the wild, alone, and exploring. She is a daredevil and I feel like sometimes she does things just to spite me, like looks me straight in the eyes and pees right next to her potty. Rebellious, she follows the beat of her own drum, although very often it’s the same beat that Arya is dancing to. Snow on the other hand is extremely obedient. He aims to please and tries his hardest to be the goodest boy just so you can recognize his efforts and give him a pat on the head. He would rather be chilling inside with the AC and cuddling up right next to you. He is affectionate and sensitive. They both have different things that drive them but are eager to learn. Brie is eager to learn what she can do to play. Snow is eager to learn what he can do to gain your affection. Brie tends to follow Arya’s instruction more than mine while Snow has become more attached to me. And I am so overly attached to him as well. His journey to his forever home has been delayed and I am having a harder time letting him go as the days progress. All I can say is I will make sure he has the brightest future possible. I’ve been picky and get even pickier the more I spend time with him. Everything happens for a reason and right now I’m happy he is still with our pack. Stay tuned friends. Arya’s adventures continue, now with new family members!

8 weeks old 🥺 you’ve grown up so much these past 2 months. I was able to witness your eyes and ears opening as you experienced these senses for the first time. Saw me for the first time. Responded to my voice. I applauded your first steps as you were finally strong enough to hold your little chubby bodies up. In the middle of the night I heard your first barks and got so excited I rushed to see if you could repeat them again. I’ve seen each of you develop into little dogs ready for the world. I am so happy you each are going to loving and wonderful families who will absolutely adore you just like I do. This experience has been absolutely magical and I hope to be able to see you all as you continue to grow and become the best doggies you can be. I hope your new humans squeeze you tight and tell you how much they love you. I hope those of you training in sports excel and absolutely love every second of it. I hope you remember me, because I’ll never forget you. And my doors are always open if you ever want to come visit us. It will be so very hard to let you go. But it’s time. You are ready little ones.

Wet puppies right after their first bath 🛁 One of the delights of having a dog like Arya is not having to take her to the groomers. Her coat never needs to be trimmed nor blow dried and she’s always let me cut her nails and brush her teeth with ease. Grooming is so important, since the third day the puppies were born I’ve been cutting and dremeling their nails. I touch their toes, caress their ears, place them on top of an elevated surface to mimic a grooming table and make sure they know any interaction with them is positive and for their benefit. Introducing them to the bath was also focused on being a positive experience. Doing anything 8 times is time consuming but I bathed each one separately to provide them my undivided attention. Some wanted kisses as comfort, others just stood calmly letting me lather them and rinse them with ease. None cried, and all were cuddled and toweled rubbed dry, thanks .musica . Even at this tiny age it’s apparent rough coats are harder to dry than smooth. Cersei, Khaleesi, and Sansa are definitely rough coated. My doubts of Lyanna and Khal are super leaning towards smooth coated now! Who’s your favorite wet pup?

This week has been pretty crazy but probably the best week yet. The puppies come up to you happily and are so curious of everything around them. All of these cuties are overly affectionate. They are learning the power of their bite and their siblings let them know when they are hurting them as they bite each other all the time. The puppies started eating this week which also means more clean up. 😅 The trick to keeping things clean is catching them in the act as they easily stumble onto their siblings business and get mess everywhere. The puppies world expanded to a puppy pen filled with lots of exciting and noisy toys which they cannot get enough of. Noise introductions started this week and nothing has startled them yet. Their world is about to expand even more. Stay tuned for how they take in the great outdoors.

TWO WEEKS - wow these last few days these puppies have grown so much. Their eyes started to open, they started walking, relieving themselves, barking, growling, and even licking! Some started earlier than others and some are still opening their eyes. They will be able to hear by the end of next week, start to play and interact with each other, and see a little less foggy. These tiny geniuses have already started potty training! They are so curious and will only become more and more aware as the days go by. Arya and Psychic’s two week old babies:

WHISTLE! What a great little device. Arya’s Christmas present and our new favorite gadget. I already feed Arya as if she was double her weight, but on very active days (swipe left) I know she needs an extra boost of nutrition. I also feel safe to take her anywhere and everywhere with me knowing I can easily find her through GPS. It notifies me if she leaves the house and I can set multiple safe zones if we’re traveling or at a friend’s house.

Arya & Cleo ❤️ they’ve been best friends since they both met as puppies, surprisingly they used to be the same size! But Arya now towers over little Cleo. They both recognize each other’s names Arya gets so excited when I tell her we’re meeting up with Cleo. @ Miami, Florida

Did you meet your pup’s mom? I was lucky enough to meet both Arya’s mom and dad!! Arya had an extra week with them since I picked her up at 9 weeks old. This is Arya and her mom Vixey ❤️

We all need a little more nature in our lives, especially our dogs 🌲
Do you trust your dog off leash? How about on leash on a bike? How about next to a body of water? These are all questions I asked myself this weekend when mountain biking with Arya. I was afraid to let her off leash with the constant bear and alligator warning signs and with the possibility of her wanting to find the nearest body of water. So I took her on leash with my bike which was different than on the road. I ended up switching to a longer leash to give her more room to navigate the trail and me to react when the path got tricky. And OH DID IT GET TRICKY. We ran into multiple sticky muddy parts of the trail, sandy dunes that made my muscles scream, and even crossed a river, which allowed Arya to cool off and swim around happily and refreshed. I did take her off leash in these breaks and she never went too far and came right back when called. But something scary DID happen. All of a sudden while biking she went off the trail and tried spooking something away with a forceful bark and sprint forward. I called her back with a sharp whistle and she listened immediately. So A+ on her recall. But as we kept pedaling on I couldn’t help but hear rustles in the trees and felt a bit in danger as if something we’re following us. I doubt her veering off and standing her ground was in vain, but holy smokes was it a rush. We kept going and didn’t look back. This experience served to highlight my trust in Arya. She didn’t even get in the river until I told her it was ok. So thanks Arya, for always making us feel safe, for listening and trusting us, and for scaring away whatever hooligan wanted to mess with us.

Quick story here. Arya would always find the river on the trail. She’d lead us there and when it was off the path she’d sneakily try to veer off towards it. On our second trail there was a bridge on top of the river which caused her to not be able to see it. I saw her get on two legs to try and take a peek as well. She didn’t reach! So here is when I picked her up so she could also admire the view. She’d jump in if I let her. Pretty sure she was thinking “please say go!”

Does your dog protect you? Or are you their protector? Arya is like an alarm 🚨 she’ll let me know if any trouble is near but she is too chicken to do anything about it. Arya is my first anxious dog and we’ve been channeling her heightened state in many different ways. Giving her a safe space, redirecting her attention elsewhere, or most importantly being able to call her next to me and have her wait in a sit. I’m her safe space as I’ve noticed she instantly calms down when she settles by my side. WORST thing you can do is scold your dog when they show signs of anxiety. That will merely worsen their state and make them fearful of you, causing them to hide or run away from you when startled. You want your dog to have a good recall and come to you even in the scariest of situations, don’t lose that trust!

Flashing back to tiny Arya! Usually the puppy months are a nightmare, bodily fluids all over your house, disobedience, chewed up furniture, torn clothes, you name it. Thankfully this smarty pants learns quickly and made these months incredibly rewarding. What did you struggle most through the puppy months?
