Cooler temps….i thought. Day off….i will get in my hives and see what is going on. Man that was a big HOT job! One hive is doing amazing! Bottom box full of brood and bees—top box filling up with honey reserves for the winter ahead. Second hive looks great in bottom box. But still cannot get them to put much of anything in the top box. They have nothing to work with over the winter. Hoping my first season beekeeping gives some honey come next season.

I grounded some chicken thighs tonight and made the BEST chickens burgers on the Blackstone with an avocado lime corn salsa!
These were so good! Nothing beats farm fresh. If you’re looking for chicken let me know before it gets gone. 😋😋😋

I have butchered my second round of chickens and have a couple of whole chickens available as well as chicken cuts (breasts, thighs, wing portions, soup bones and drumsticks!

Who needs eggs? Get them now while chickens are laying great! They will slow down as the days get shorter. Maybe you need to get some to store up from winter. I have had this jar of eggs for a year….they are water glassed in lime water. Great for scrambled eggs or cooked in recipes. The yolk gets watery so not the best for fried eggs or hard boiled, but this kept me from having to buy eggs through the winter.
You need clean farm fresh unwashed eggs and use pickling lime added to water. Cover eggs and take out to use over winter as needed.

I have TWO Turkey babies growing. I got excited the first time and put in a dozen eggs…none were fertilized so second time around I put in 5 and have these two growing. Hopefully they will make it 18 days and hatch.

Bees have been busy! The white is capped honey that will serve as food for them through the coming fall and winter! Next year hopefully we will have enough for them to share with us! 😋😋😋

I may drive a Cadillac but I can still haul farm stuff! 😂😂😂
Today was “midget’ white turkeys. This Tom was still pretty hefty but he rolled just fine to get with his ladies. Once my meat chickens are processed they will move to a more permanent location on the farm.
Hoping to soon offer up some tasty thanksgiving dinners! ❤️

Finally had a day to get my garden beds together…have been behind on the gardening part this year. Hope to at least get a few tomatoes to can.
But also checked out our fig trees this year…they are growing lots of little figs.

They were busy bees today. I went out to sprinkle some cinnamon around due to the ants but they seem to be guarding as well…that ant was not getting in! 😂
