Update: Apollo has found his forever home!!!!
Hi My name is Hannah. I am competing in the Idaho Mustang Mania held July 1-2 2022. He will be available for reassignment after the competing.
This page will follow the progress of my mustang #3548 show you how he handles situation and how he is learning.
Update: Apollo has found his forever home!!!!
🌟Apollo is looking for his forever home!🌟
2 year old mustang from 4 mile HMA Idaho. We competed in the Mustang Mania 2022, placing 5th overall in the youth division. 1st in Handling and Conditioning. He is athletic, intelligent and has a nice conformation.
Apollo can be haltered easily. He leads, stops, and backs well. I take him for walks and jogs around our property. Has been ponied, walks over bridges, through water. Good with new people, joggers, dogs running around and anything else at Eagle Island State Park.
Goes under most anything, desensitized to flags and flapping tarps. He is good with the Farrier and he trailers well.
I have started some undersaddle work with him. He stands well for getting tacked up, moves out well with the saddle. Because he is only 2 years old, I’m not pushing him to be ridden yet.
He is a beautiful horse that will stand out in any arena.
Feel free to message me with any questions about Apollo.
Our awards for the open show.
6th in trail.
Handling & Conditioning 1st place.
We also stayed for the open show. Apollo placed 2nd in Showmanship youth and 1st in Trail!! This is a video of the trail course for the open show.
Apollo did amazing at Mania!!! I'm so proud of him!
We got 1st in Handling & Conditioning. Winning my first buckle ever!!!! We got 6th in Trail. And we got 8th in Freestyle. Placing us 5th overall!!
Apollo Available for Adoption. We will be competing at the ID Mustang Mania, July 1st and 2nd.
Age: yearling. From: 4 mile HMA Idaho.
He has met all of his TIP requirements. He can be haltered, brushed, picks up his feet, loads into trailers (with and without dividers).
Leads with you, walks over bridges, through water. Can be ponied. Good with new people, joggers, dogs running around and anything else at Eagle Island State Park.
Ground ties (well actually, he won't panic if he steps on his lead rope but he will find a way to walk off dragging it 🤣)
Goes under most anything, desensitized to packing a flag, has been saddled many times. He has had baby warts but they are almost all gone.
Overall he is a really sweet little horse with lots of potential. If you are consistent with him, he will learn quickly.
Currently entertaining offers.

Apollo did great at the horse show in Nampa, Saturday! I can't wait for Mania!
We're down to the last 10 days! Apollo will be at the Mania July 1-2. I'm currently working on his journey video 😉
This little mister got to go to Eagle Island State Park again today! We worked on trotting along the trail and standing at the trailer while the other horse leaves.
We went to the horse show yesterday. For his first time out, he did really well and was very relaxed. But there is always room for improvement! (My mom forgot to take the lens cap off before videoing 🤣)
Learning to go under things that might touch him. (skip to 52 seconds) we had to get used to a lawn mower just outside of the frame.
Apollo's first official saddling. We have done a lot of with the surcingle before this.
Apollo had his first hose down today!
Did some desensitizing with my little flags, I don't think you can hear it very well but they do make a snapping sound. And worked on just staying on the platform while I walked around him, he's getting really good at that.
He is good at listening to body language. Also tried some of his skills at liberty.
Apollo has gotten pretty good at being caught and haltered. This was the 5th day we tried trotting with me.
Had some fun with some new (and old) obstacles! Surprisingly the only thing he really had an issue with was the open barn door which he has been around many, many times.
Apollo is getting pretty good at going over the 'bridge'. We'll see how well he does when I paint it 😂
This was only the second day practicing trot with me but he beginning to get it.
As you can see, Apollo is getting really good at his pivots and hindquarter yields.
He still gets nervous when he hears a different sound.
This is from today. I bought some new things to desensitize to and he did great with it.
This was Apollo's first ever time coming up to the trailer (since I got him anyway) May 3rd. My camera died the second day of trailer loading but we ended with Apollo sending into the trailer.
Apologizes for the inconsistent updates. The computer with my video editing software is fried so I haven't been able to edit any of my videos. However I have started filming in "clips" which I will be posting here in a minute. Hopefully that will help you guys see how he is doing. The last 2-3ish weeks have been a complete turn around in a good way. Apollo has finally really begun to understand what is being asked of him and relaxing much more.
For those of you interested in adopting Apollo, after mania, if you have any questions about him or would like to see how he handles something, just let me know in the comments and I will see what I can do.
Apollo is doing very well! He picks up his feet, loads in the trailer, lunges, walks over poles, desensitized to a flag, etc..
Look who went out for a walk!!!! Apollo was a champ! He was more relaxed than the horse I was on 😂
I've taken Apollo out of his pen a few times now and each time has been a little better. He does spook at a lot but he stays near me and calms back down quickly.
He is getting better about being touched. Brushed his mane. He walks over his "bridge" well. I introduced him to a saddle blanket and he let me put it on.
Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks. My computer is still not working so no videos for a while.
Apollo will be available for adoption after mania in July.
Week 3 with Apollo has been slow and part of that is because it has been raining or snowing here in the Treasure valley most of the week and I caught a cold. However we still made some progress. I was able to take him out of his pen for a bit and he is learning to give to pressure well.
Video for week 3 won't be up for a while since my computer is not working. In the mean time, here are some pictures from the last week and a half.
Week 2: Making progress. As you can see in these clips that he still doesn't like to be touched but is getting better at it.
A big thing did happen on Sunday (I forgot to set my camera up so I don't have any footage of it, woops 🤣) I looked out at him form my window and watched as he casually slipped off his halter. He did have one ear out from day 2 but he finally got it all the way off. I wasn't sure what I was going to do at first then I decided to try and put a rope halter on using lung whip. Surprisingly after 15 minutes and only three bolts away from me. I managed to get it on, loosely. I tightened it the next day.
He is defiantly learning to trust me more. He is also learning to lead/follow well.
I'm looking forward to making a lot more progress this next week!
