Hmmmmmmm what should we call them ???
Let us know what you think In the the comments below !! We’d also appreciate you sharing this post as we are starting to look for homes for them 😔
Chinese Red ovcharka ???
Chinese red Shepherd ???
Caucasian red dog ???
Here we have a lovely litter of puppies that are a fantastic mix of Chinese red dog and a Caucasian ovcharka (Shepherd). They are both very defensive but very loyal dogs. They both are excellent guardians of land and humans.
The mum (Lizzie, Caucasian ovcharka) is very protective over the family and our home. If anybody enters or comes near she will bark and doesn’t buckle under pressure. The ovcharka has very high defensive drive and wants to please the owner but usually aren’t interested in playing ball. On the flip side since the puppies, we have had her living indoors and she is very chilled and happy to relax and sleep. The exercise that these dogs need isn’t for the faint hearted but also manageable. At least an hour of exercise a day will suffice however if kept indoors I would recommend more. The grooming of these dogs isn’t very difficult although it looks daunting; I am on the lazy side of grooming and keep on top of it fairly well. They just need a shedding brush to bring the dead undercoat out and that brings the top coat to a nice standard too. The obedience of this breed is never going to be competition standard but with strict rules and a small amount of pressure I have reached a great standard that I am satisfied with. Lizzie has been raw fed from the day I got her and she eats very well. I don’t measure the food I give her I just adjust the amount based on work and condition but I would estimate 1-1.4kg a day. Lizzie is fantastic with children and would die for a family member. Lizzie will be around 60kg fully grown.
The dad (Bomber, Chinese red dog) is a very loyal dog and wants to be by my side all of the time. He is gentle and affectionate however when the time needs it he can be switched on and become very aggressive to a threat and will protect his owner. The Chinese red dog has a high defensive drive but also has a prey drive hidden away that needs working to come out so they are interested in balls and playing. He is currently in training to become a sport dog so all bases are being tested with him at the moment. Chinese red dogs have potential to have very good obedience and that I am working on too. He, also like Lizzie, when outside in his pen will bark at any intruders and protect our home. The Chinese red dog needs more exercise than the ovcharka especially if kept indoors. They need and want more mental stimulation. The ovcharka will switch off where as the Chinese red dog can be mentally stimulated for far longer. Bomber has also been fed raw food from a short time after I got him he consumed roughly the same amount of food as Lizzie and is a lot less picky as to what he eats. Bomber hasn’t been around children like the others but from other people with the same breed, have no problems and I can socialise him in large crowds and he is comfortable so I wouldn’t have any worries putting him with children. He also is very loyal to me and would stand with me through thick and thin. Bomber will be between 50-65kg fully grown.
Both dogs are very loving to the three of us who live together (me, my girlfriend and my dad). They both have zero dog aggression and play well. From knowledge this is only the second litter of this breed of dog in the country. This breeding was accidental however I was always interested as to what they would be like so all be it nervous I was super excited.
Feel free to message us with any queries or feel free to give me a call should you want to speak to me about them 07866489037, but as mentioned above, please share this post as now is the time to start looking for their forever homes.
