New comers welcome brother and sister duo Rodney and Cassie. Learning how to be calm in the real world.
Following on from international cat day. I thought I would share some helpful hints in making an environment cat friendly.
Amazing work from Bailey and his family.
Dedication, patience and hard work created this progress. Building a relationship and trust with your dog helps you to achieve wonderful things together.
So so proud well done Bailey.
GO BAILEY! Super proud of you today
The best Stooge dog around.
This is one of my cases from clinical practice. Wilson and his family have worked so hard on his confidence. With dedication, time and patience he has blossomed. Super proud of Wilson 🥰 (it didn't post the end .... which is the best bit on the reel/instagram)
Puppy's are always fun. Zia did not fail to deliver on cuteness
Training session one, loose lead walking. Boxed off.
Sometimes we have to step out of our comfort zone. Doing group sessions is tough!
Muzzle training - massively undervalued in my opinion. Allowing a dog to be comfortable with wearing a muzzle in multiple locations is a must. Khadgar demonstrating it here lovely, whilst laying down.
I love getting updates.
Here is Jess showing her 'drop' cue. She is a bit cheeky a couple of times but considering she used to not let go of anything she had in her mouth, this is amazing. Well done Jess and your humans. Keep up the good work.
So many times I see people dragging their dogs on a walk. Sometimes we forget its their walk. Enjoy the time together. They aren't around forever.
Poppy belongs to one of our nurses at work. She is an older lady now with some aspects of cognitive decline. So we offered her a snuffle mat to explore and she loved it. I have so much love for Poppy 😍
Hugo resisting the urge to do a runner as soon as the door opens. This is stage 3 of the process but he is learning that rushing at the door isn't what is expected of him. Well done Hugo, you made my day today when you managed this multiple times. Even if you were caught having a nap in the middle of the session 😃
This is my little foster kitten Nova. She has no mum or siblings to learn from yet still displays hunting behaviours. Allowing cats to express their natural preditory behaviours can help decrease frustration and reduce some behaviour problems.
Week 4 with these amazing humans and canine. All doing really really well. We are still in a distraction free environment, but building the foundations of an fantastic relationship built on trust. The aim is that Khadgar can relax more on walks.
Not only is this a fun thing to teach, it is also super useful once they really understand it.
Having fun at the beach. There is always an excuse to practice recall!
I love getting updates! Daisy is smashing the "down" cue. She struggled at first. Her owner Diane (and daugher Jess) are doing amazing with the clicker training. Keep up the amazing work
