So King’a’ling has started his dressage outings. Our coach Tori Peter has allowed us 4 outings where we aren’t bothered about the scores. This is to get King used to being out and about.
For our first outing we went to Happa Dressage and came home with a red ribbon. At happa they split the classes into junior and senior and there was only 3 of us in that class and we scored 66.93%.
Our second outing took us to Cockshot a venue we have never been to before and there the classes were all one so we competed against all the seniors and we were the youngest there. We places again getting 4th place out of 9 scoring 64.62%
Our third outing took us to Myerscough another venue we haven’t been to before. This one was a lot busier than we have experienced so far with tests running in all arenas and lots of noise which King coped with magnificently. Here we scored 67.05% our highest score yet and placed a very respectable 6th place out of 17. Overall I am very pleased so far with Kings progress he just takes everything in his stride. He really is one of a kind.

Yesterday we had the saddle fitter out and we can now start our ridden career. Belle is a beautiful mover. She’s slightly nervous so she needs all the encouragement when she’s doing something right, this will then help with building her confidence. What do you guys think? I’m getting a “King” vibe from this one.

Sorry I’ve been super quiet lately there’s a lot been going on behind the scenes. Take a look at one of the things keeping me busy.

This is my new girl Belle she’s 5 years old. Looking forward to working with this sweet mare and is getting to know each other. We have had her a couple of weeks now and she’s settled in nicely. I will update the page later with her progress for you all to see.

Took King out to his first ever dressage test today Prelim 13 and scored 66.93% gaining a 1st place. Very pleased with that considering he is 4 and never been out under saddle before today. Super proud that I have produced this horse and my hard work is certainly paying off. Had a little blip halfway through because the judge was on the wrong test sheet 🙈 but we recovered well.

Kingalings favourite thing to do is canter. It’s tricky training a youngster because it’s like teaching a toddler with the attention span of a newt 🤣 sometimes we have to reward king with a canter in order for him to become more focused. Those that know Elsa know of the struggles we have had loading her. She’s reared, planted her feet and just plain old refused to even go near the trailer/box. She used to load on the front ramp and turn around inside the trailer 🙄Anyway my mum and dad have worked tirelessly in getting her used to loading and now look at her.

Last week Donna had us working on our canter work to help balance King. Cantering is his most favourite thing in the world but as he’s a baby he’s very unbalanced. However I think he nailed these 20 metre circles, what do you think?

So last year my instructor Donna made me feel like the luckiest girl in the world by not only allowing me to learn dressage but compete on her best boy Ffjord. Ffjord is an elementary level dressage horse and he has shown me a glimpse into the dressage world. He is amazing. Not only does he move out of this world but he has a temperament to die for. This video here is of one of my prelim tests last season. I will be forever grateful to Donna and Ffjord for this wonderful opportunity.

And last but certainly not least this is my boy. Westside Mufasa aka King. King is my dressage dream horse he’s 4 years old I’ve backed him myself under my instructors guidance and I am excited to see what the future hold for me and this boy.

This is Elsa our other welshie only this time she’s a Section D. You know what they say about Welsh chestnut mares 🤣 we have owned Elsa since she was a foal and she’s now 8 years old. You will see a lot more of my progress with Elsa in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled.

Meet Folly my first ever pony. She’s a Welsh Section C and she’s 24 years old. We have owned Folly for over 8 years and I have to say she is my pony of a lifetime.

A little bit about me.
Hi I’m Ania or as others call me Annie. I am 14 years old and have been riding since I was 6. Up until recently I did a few local shows mainly veteran with my super pony Folly who is 24 years young. Now however dressage is my dream. I want to be just like my idol Charlotte Dujardin (a girl can dream can’t she?) Anyway I’m using this page to document my progress as I embark on my dressage journey. I will be posting my videos of my lessons and my dressage tests along with the results so that I have it all for the future so I can see exactly how far I’ve come.
