There is serious problem of cat over population in the Island. A big part of the solution is to perform TNR. Animal abandonment and abuse is worse than ever.

Dumping Ground Island has been hit with boxes of new kittens without their moms. You find pregant young cats. Injured cats and even dead cats runned over by cars.

It may not seem like the prettiest place but we work with the limited resources we have. Also this feeding station is outdoors and news things when installed are simply robbed or broken by the passersby.

This morning someone decided to dump 4 kittens less than 3 weeks old. They would not have survived 24hrs out there cold and hungry.

Several changes have ocurred since 2023. Due to property owner instructions the cat area had to be moved across the street.

This is a feeding station in Humacao, we try untiringly to trap, neuter and release as much as we can. However many residents keep leaving boxes of cats and kittens in the área. We desperately also need cat food.

Abanondement occurs at any time of the day. This family of six siblings was dumped after 8pm. Near a river bank and a rural road with no light poles.

Barely words can describe the impotence, frustration, sweat and tears we encounter everyday in the trenches.

$700 + is a ballpark figure of what it can possibly cost to help save each one of the puppies. Vetting food + travel to mainland expenses.

For years there has been a huge problem with strays, abandoned and abused animals. In my home-town of Humacao the crisis is real. Apart from the food route in Punta Santiago and my oasis, there is a colony of cats that we are interested in impacting.

Female cats can give birth 3 to 4 times a year. As a matter of urgency we want to start a TNR program + ear tipping.

Puerto Rico Island of the Caribbean has cultural riches and large diversities of attractive places to visit. Considered Island of Enchantment for years. A long time ago it ceased to be. Sadly, it has become the Dumping Ground Island for animals. The number of abandoned and abused animals is rampant. The crass government inaction, the lack of education and the absence of basic values ​​in the family nucleus have further deteriorated this situation. It is time to understand social deterioration through our behavior towards animals.

The solution is to sterilize, the solution is to report the abusers, the solution is to present a proposal to start educational campaigns in schools. The government must actively participate in creating mechanisms that enforce the law against animal abuse.

Puerto Rico Isla del Caribe tiene riquezas culturales y una gran diversidad de lugares atractivos para visitar. Considerada Isla del Encanto durante años. Hace mucho tiempo que dejó de serlo. Lamentablemente, se ha convertido en la isla vertedero de animales. El número de animales abandonados y maltratados es rampante. La crasa inacción gubernamental, la falta de educación y la ausencia de valores básicos en el núcleo familiar han deteriorado aún más esta situación. Es hora de entender el deterioro social a través de nuestro comportamiento hacia los animales.

La solución es esterilizar, la solución es denunciar a los abusadores, la solución es presentar una propuesta para iniciar campañas educativas en las escuelas. El gobierno debe participar activamente en la creación de mecanismos que hagan cumplir la ley contra el maltrato animal.
