I can’t stress this enough - DO NOT TOUCH A DOG WHEN THEY ARE EATING!
This is not a skill they need to learn - they need to learn that they are safe whilst eating and will not be approached. If they are constantly being touched, approached or having their food taken away then naturally they will guard it more heavily and this will become a problem.
Just try to take my food away from me whilst I’m eating and see what happens!

This is my last dog Ripley, he was in my opinion the best boy! HOWEVER - He struggled with reactivity to other dogs and had bad separation anxiety. So I can 100% empathise with you when you’ve come home from a walk in tears and don’t know how to help the dog in front of you or get so frustrated that you feel like giving up.
I can help you to understand what may be happening and how to better communicate with your best friend so that you can work through the issues in a way that isn’t going to damage the trust you’ve built with them.
