I really promote variety and rotation not just of protein but also your vegetables. Here's why:
1 cup of Beet Greens has 2308 IU of Vitamin A
1 cup of Carrots has 30942 of Vitamin A
1 cup of Swiss Chard has 1188 of Vitamin A
1 cup of Celery has 152 of Vitamin A
But....
1 cup of Carrots has 16 mcg of Magnesium
1 cup of Beet Greens has 28 of Magnesium
1 cup of Celery has 14 of Magnesium
1 cup of Chard has 30
By rotating the veg you avoid developing sensitivities and create a better nutrient profile. Carrots may be lower in Magnesium but are pretty high in Vitamin A. Chard may be okay for Vitamin A but it has a good dose of Magnesium.
Add those quantities up over say a week's worth of meals and you come back with a nice overall profile and that is how we build a 20 Year Dog!!
