The House of Paws is on an extended R&R!
The last few years have been busy for The House of Paws. I began fostering kittens full time and my clientele grew tremendously in Hawaii (2019-2022) . The House of Paws also became a full-time LLC. I have truly been blessed with amazing clients and have learned so much from the amazing Rescue organizations I volunteered with. 2023 is a year of change and restoration for me, as we settle in to Germany and decompress from a hectic overseas move. I have decided to take a break from petsitting to enjoy time exploring Germany with my family and pets. Also to focus on my future goals for the

FINALLY getting settled in Germany! I'm excited to be back working and growing our pack. Missing our Hawaii fur friends but Kea is enjoying meeting new friends here in Germany. I'm excited to continue training to become a dog trainer, working on my pet photography, and meeting new clients.

FOREVER IN OUR PACK
Rest Easy Pups ❤️ I know my P**i (2013-2019) was there to welcome you at Heavens gates.
My oldest senior client Molson "Mo" (14 years old) passed away this year from old age and cancer right before we moved overseas. I recently learned Kea's best pup friend and one of my youngest clients Bella passed recently from cancer a few weeks ago. I'm heart broken. My family and I loved these two so much! Not only were they regulars at The House of Paws but they become apart of our family along with there owners. Both pups leave behind wonderful owners and canine sibling (Geronimo & Bailey).

I sure do miss my House of Paws Hawaii pack! These precious pets truly became apart of my family. When I say a " Home Away Home experience for your pets" I mean it. All pets are welcomed into our home and loved and cared for as if they are our own.

Welcome 1 year old Nico! .
He is here for a few days working on crate training. Nico is a rescue from and is dealing with separation anxiety. He loves his bed and crate until his owners leave and he is alone. This pup is a master . It's breaking his owners heart that he cannot be left alone and doesn't see his crate as a safe space. I'm here to help.

As a pet parent/handler nothing feels more rewarding than taking all of your training and applying it to your dog. I'm so thankful for this boy and the work he puts in to help me daily.

Why you should hire a professional who has the training and skills to care for your pet.
"Sounds like the perfect solution... kids itching to walk their new dog + over-stretched parents thrilled that their children are taking responsibility and lightening the workload! What's not to love?
Actually quite a LOT.
I can't tell you how many disappointed faces I see when I try to explain why a child walking a dog ALONE *might NOT be* the best idea for anyone!!?
And I get totally it.
If this is your first family dog, a quick spin around the block may look harmless enough - until you consider ALL of the things that can (and DO) go wrong.
Even (mentally and physically) FULLY-GROWN ADULTS get pulled down to the ground, or dragged over to squirrels, skateboards and the neighborhood cat. They accidentally drop leashes, or watch helplessly as their pup slips their collar. They struggle to control their dog around other dogs, or conversely, they panic or freeze when an off-leash dog comes sprinting full-speed towards them (friendly or not friendly.. who knows? They’ll likely find out when it’s too late!)
And this is ONLY a handful of the things that can happen to GROWN UPS… so for kids the stakes are simply exponentially higher.
As a trainer, I’m pretty calculated about where I go, and when I walk my dogs my radar is always activated. Even still, I’ve personally had to dash after my loose dog, I’ve been bitten by a dog who was attacking mine, I’ve seen a dog run over in a school parking lot, and watched a child be literally dragged for 50ft against her will!
So, I hope by sharing the potential risks with you, you can make informed choices about your family dog walking situation:
Here’s my hotlist of things to consider:
Size - of child and dog
Strength - of child and dog
Maturity - of child and dog
Training - of child and dog
Temperament - of child and dog
Then download, print and share our poster.
THESE are my questions to help families size up the COMBINATION of their dog and child to see whether WALKING ALONE together is a SMART call.

Cats are at the vet. Kiddos are hanging out with friends. Packers are packing. So, Kea and I did a bit of training in the backyard and now he is enjoying his popsicle.

Said goodbye to all of my clients here in Hawaii! Dropped my foster kittens off and had my last boarding clients last week. Had my last drop-in yesterday. Im going to miss all of my clients and foster babies but looking forward to meeting my new fosters and clients in Germany.

What started out with Copper being brushed, ended up with him getting himself stuck in his cat tunnel 🤣😂. He has been so playful and silly the last few days
