"Well R***r saved me a hospital trip maybe even my life. He has never bitten me beside playing but today while walking the lake as we always do he became pretty aggressive nipping at me then wrapped my leg and his dew claws really dig in I turned to scold him and he ran around me like trying to avoid me.

I turned to grab him and he had a copper head backed against a log and he tried to kill him till I got a stick to finish him off. Literally almost filled my eyes with tears knowing he risked his life to save me. I literally sat down with him and held him. This guy is by far my guardian. Best dog ever award goes to this guy. Rather have this cut that the bite from that copperhead any day.

As summertime begins to come to a close, parents are shopping for school supplies, and kids are picking out their first day of school outfits, lots of routines start to change. While the family is preparing for the school year ahead, we need to keep in mind our furry family members as well. 🐾

Whether that means no one will be home with your pet during the day anymore, or your pet’s time home alone will be lengthened due to a variety of after school activities, there will be a noticeable change in routine for your pup! Here are some things we can do to make this transition easier for our pets.

1.) Exercise 🐕‍🦺🎾

The best way to get your dog to relax and sleep through their day at home alone is to exercise them regularly! If time does not allow you to take your dog for a walk every morning before leaving the house, please keep me in mind!
It will make a huge difference in your dog’s behavior at home during the day. Especially for dogs with high energy levels and high anxiety levels, regular exercise is extremely important.
To me, it will always be worth the money spent to be able to see their excitement, changes in behavior, and long-term health benefits.

2.) Routine ⏰🐩

Did you adopt a new pup over the summer or during the quarantine when there was a lot of time for the family to bond with and train them? That’s awesome, but now that our human schedules will begin to change this Fall, so will our dog’s schedule. Instead of fun adventures with the kids all day in the backyard, your pup could potentially be spending a lot more time at home alone. A good plan is to set a schedule that can be followed all year long. A walk in the morning can not only implement beneficial exercise but it can create healthy routines.
I love to create long lasting relationships with pets and their owners. Many of my clients have a consistent weekly schedule with me that allows for their pets to fall into healthy routines and habits. Dogs are creatures of habit. They love to know when to expect their meals and daily walk, and they will look forward to those times every day. ☀️🐾✏️

Why were we on such a late walk? In short, because it is crucial for a Dog’s mental and physical health.

Sometimes finding time to make sure your four legged friend is walked consistently can seem impossible.

If you cannot find the time or would even like your pet walked or exercised while you are at work/occupied please keep me in mind!
