Hello everyone, this is a page created to support Fiona in her medical journey.
Fiona is a 1yr old female white boxer. She lives at home with her mama & her favorite kitty, Theo. Fiona loves to play outside with her tennis ball, enjoys couch cuddles, and is the most lovable little girl.
Fiona does experience some separation anxiety, as she spends most of her time playing with her mama & kitty. We are always playing outside, riding around in the car, or going on adventures.
Recently, when left at home while mom was running errands, Fiona escaped the house.
She was right behind mom watching her search the neighborhood for hours… Right when mom got close enough to her, she became spooked and ended up on the side of Rt. 28. Terrified, Fiona ran as fast as she could and exited the highway the first chance she had. Unfortunately, she exited near an overpass, not realizing the immediate drop below her. We estimate that Fiona fell from about 20 feet in the air. When we finally found her, she was lying under the overpass with her two front legs broken, and what we found to be a collapsed lung. We rushed Fiona to the emergency vet, and received the terrible news that she would need her right front leg amputated and would likely need a reconstructive surgery on the other front leg.
Though this news was heartbreaking, we knew we would be okay. Fiona is a tough young lady, and with the right medical care, we are confident she will pull through.
