Garden is slowly working its way up to fill size. With the wet month of May and then blazing heat things got off to a messy start. Lettuces and radishes will be harvested in two weeks and will be delivered with green onions. So you get your salads first and then the good stuff hopefully by mid July.

Jalapeno pepper plants are looking good. These are store bought and are starting to bloom.

This is a male ground crab spider (confirmed). If you zoom in really close you can see the tiny pinchers on the first two legs.

He is welcome in the garden as all spiders are. This is one part of the natural bug control process.

I was able to accomplish quite a lot before the rain:

Legitimately 300 ish peppers planted-

Corbaci, Datil, Jalapeno, Anaheim, Poblano, Cayenne, Chinese five color, Green Bell, Ghost,.

Tomatoes-both large and cherry, cucumbers, onions, horehound, watermelon, and potato plants.

Tomorrow afternoon, weather permitting, more watermelon, pumpkin, crookneck squash, zucchini, and all the rest of the flowers.

Yesterday afternoon was very productive. Seeds planted

50 foot rows
1. Cilantro, lettuce, mixed greens, cilantro
2. To be planted - hot pepper plants
3. Golden and red beets
4. Jalapeno plants
5. Jalapeno plants
6. Carrots
7. Sweet peppers
8.
9. Shallots
10. Overflow pepper plants

3 rows (40') each green beans asking with nasturtium seeds and marigolds seeds

I am planting flower seeds with almost every row that would include beneficial flowers as well as wildflowers. I'm doing this for several reasons: #1 they're beautiful and kind of give me a better attitude while I'm out weeding. #2 they bring in pollinators so increased production hopefully from all the vegetables. #3 they'll help modify the soil with their roots especially around plants that need looser soil for building the roots like radishes and carrots.

Hello to all my CSA participants. Pumpkins and acorn squash will be delivered on your respective pre-set delivery days. I know I took count if y'all's amounts wanted but if you don't mind because I am so easily distracted by sit things could you respond with how many of each squash type you want? Please???

The hard squashes will keep for several months in a cool dry place like a dried in basement or in your untreated garage or shed but cover them with dry straw.

25/09/2022

Last regular delivery is today. There will be tomatoes, onions, summer squash, and Swiss Chard.

I will set up a time for delivering the winter squash and picking up the empty baskets.

Thank you so much for your participation. You are a part of sustainability, Entrepreneur building, the local economy and ecology, spring a small business, and an advocate for healthy nutrition for your family!!!
