BEST CHRISTMAS EVER!
We got a new Maltipoo puppy! He's still in the teething phase so he's pretty much chewing on anything he can get his little paws on....Like yarn...And paper...And for some reason, velcro.....Anyway, the list just keeps on going!😆
His name is Benji.
The pregnant does are progressing nicely... Well, as far as we can tell anyway. Judging by her size this early in the pregnancy we're expecting, maybe, triplets from Lyra, so it'll be exciting to see just how many we'll get! I did predict the amount of kids correctly with Venus's kidding and got ten bucks (as in cash, not the male goat, that would be insane) from the bet I made with my sister, so we'll see if that happens again!
Venus, the queen of the herd, is as stubborn as ever. Does anyone else have any trouble wrangling their goats 'cause, well... let's just say that if she doesn't want to move, she does not want to move. Her stick-like legs are much stronger than you would think they are, too. And yet as we're struggling to get her to the milking room, she's just standing there with that dreamy look in her eyes with not a care in the world, completely oblivious to the fact that we have other things to do. Although I guess I shouldn't be the one complaining since my sister is the one who struggles most, trying to shove her up the ramp. But, no worries, Venus is never harmed during this tiring process....Although I can't say the same for my sister and me. I cannot tell you how many times she has stomped on our toes. We finally decided to buy steel-toe shoes, which may be a bit over-kill but, hey, at least our problem's solved. I am sure our neighbors would be very much amused if they saw us on our daily trips to the milking room, but luckily, non of them wake-up early enough to see.
Well this was a much longer post than I expected. Ha ha
