Happy Sunday everyone! We are needing a transport for our precious Barbara (pictured here) from her temporary foster in San Diego to Newhall on August 1. We will pay your gas. Anyone up for the task? She rides very easily in the car. She also has a large crate that can be flattened but needs to be transported with her. Let us know. ☮️🐾

Newhall, CA- AFN is proud to introduce Cowboy! This 1.5 year old dream pup is so loving and playful! His favorite activities are playing chase in the yard, training through games and learning new tricks! (Training video in the comments) His previous family lost their housing and we’re living in their car to avoid taking him to a shelter, that’s when we found about him and just had to make space. He is Neutered and up to date on his shots. He’s still in training but will be looking for his forever home in a couple of weeks. Let us know if you or someone you may know as any questions about this dapper little dude! 661-904-3835 ❤️🐾

6/23 Barbara says “Good morning!” To all her fans and supporters! Last night we had cone incident, but luckily Chelsea (devoted AFN volunteer/ trainer came to the rescue with a new cone and duct tape) you can see our artistic endeavors pictured below! For Barbara’s continued care: here is our Venmo link https://www.venmo.com/u/animalfosternetwork

6/22 Barbara had a peaceful night with a few wake ups where she needed snuggles and reassurance to fall back to sleep. The surgery was a success but ended up being more involved because not only did she need her bottom lids repaired but her top lids too. Also, she has a very bad ulcer on her cornea in her right eye that we are keeping a close eye on. (See what I did there?)

Unfortunately the bill was higher ($1,852.64) than expected and she is unable (due to ther recovery process) to return to boarding on Monday as we had originally planned because it’s outdoors.

Thank you for all the donations so far: sadly it’s only covering a fraction of the medical bills at this point. I know we’re all strapped, but please consider even a small donation for Barbara. https://www.venmo.com/u/animalfosternetwork

This puts us back to square 1 needing an urgent foster home for her where she can be nursed back to health. We are willing to pay as we would have paid for her boarding (25.00/ night) The family needs to have someone home most of the time and we prefer no other pets to keep her as calm as possible. Please reach out immediately if you have any ideas. 661-904-3835. She will need a month commitment. ☮️🐾 she’s pictured below enjoying some outside time after eating the yummy breakfast pictured here.

Thank you everyone who helped us bring her to the day that will end her life time of pain. ☮️🐾

‼️6/21 10:55 am Update: Barbara is being prepped for surgery! Yaaaaay! Also, we now have $215 in donations for her surgery and follow up care. Thank you everyone! ☮️🐾
‼️6/20 Update: we have raised $55 (thank you soooo much!) by 1:30 today. The surgery is tomorrow and will drain our account. Are we begging for help? I guess we are! 🙏🐾
☮️ 6/17 Poor Barbara had her eye exam today thanks to our wonderful volunteer driver Caryn and our Amazing vet Dr Oh at Animal Medical Center. Sadly our fears were confirmed that Barbara has a birth defect called entropion, which causes her bottom eyelids to be inverted which scratches her eyeball with her lashes every time she blinks. It is excruciatingly painful and should have been corrected when she was a pup. We were able to schedule it asap on Friday this week but are in need of financial assistance for the bill. If possible please help us help her, no amount is too small. The estimate is below and some cute videos in the comments. You can mail a check to Animal Foster Network at 24529 Apple Street Newhall, CA 91321 or venmo it to: thank you to our entire AFN family! Together we can do so much good in this world. ☮️

WE COVER EVERYTHING
We’ve been contacted by a Good Samaritan who found this dog curled up on the side of the 405 last month. They have tried to contact the number on her microchip multiple times and never heard back. Their landlord says time is up and she needs to go by tomorrow. Our hearts hurt for this sweet girl because she has tasted love for the last month with her fosters and the thought of her going to a cement cell at the shelter feels like the worst she could now experience. Maybe it’s her averageness (just a pit, just brown and white, just 4 years old) that makes us want to fight hard for her. Yes, she needs further vetting for her eyes, she will get it but only if we can find a foster. Please, please help us help her! Here are her details that we know so far:

Name: Barbra
Breed: Pitty
Age: Between (2-5 vet estimated)
Weight: 50 lbs/ spayed
Vaccines: At least rabies (the fosters had it done) we will do the rest
Personality: EXTREMELY sweet and loving. Loves to be cuddled. She enjoys playing but is a mellow dog overall.
Good with dogs and kids (reportedly)
House trained and leash trained.

We wanted to share this beautiful update photo of 2 AFN alumni adopted 1 year apart. (Yep, they loved their first AFN dog so much they came back for a second) It’s pictures like this of Juno and Sunny that keep us focused on the goal when we are forced to make huge sacrifices to save animals lives. Thank you everyone for your support and networking! ☮️🐾

Did you know an FIV+ cat can live perfectly safely with FIV- cats? It’s true! Did you also know that most city and county shelters routinely release cats without testing for it? You could be living with an FIV+ cat and not even know it. Animal Foster Network currently has a sweet kitten named Doc who tested FIV+ and no one wants to adopt him. ☹️🐾 (we’ll pop his sweet little face down in the comments in case you read this and decide to open your home and heart to him) Check out what the vet at the San Diego humane society is saying about it here:

Hello my name is Doc! Male, 16 weeks old. I’d like to tell you a little about myself. I fell out of a car engine and this very nice man saved me from being run over. I was so scared that I was hissing and trying to escape. I really didn’t mean to hurt or scare anyone but I was so scared myself.
When my foster family heard about my adventure they decided to name me Doc after the movie Cars. Since I have been with them I have now seen the movie and I really liked it. My foster family has taken really good care of me. They have taken me to see the vet and made sure I have gotten my vaccinations. The vet even did some bloodwork on me. He says I’m very healthy and happy. The vet told my mom I do have a test that could be a false positive. It’s something called FIV it stands for Feline Immunity Virus. The vet says I can live a long normal life, he also said a lot of people don’t understand it. I can still play and be around other animal’s but for some reason people are afraid of me.
My foster family keeps telling me the reason I haven’t been adopted yet is because I’m just to cute and silly. I know they are just trying to make me feel good. I like to play with all my toys and my cat friends that I have made. There is even a pug named Luna that I chase around because she has a funny tail. I like when we watch a movie because that means I get to get extra yummy treats and belly rubs. I really hope that as you are reading this that you are thinking I might become part of your family. I hope to find my furever home soon. I’m the sleepy little tuxedo in the pic below. Doc is available through The Animal Foster Network let us know if you have questions. 661-904-3835. $100 minimum adoption donation and home check required. ☮️🐾 check the link in the comments for more info on FIV positive cats.

14 week old awesome kitten needs a home now!! Newhall, California: ‼️‼️URGENT- Doc is looking for his forever home. This little guy is thriving in his foster home! He’s loves attention from humans and purrs when picked up! He is very playful and super silly. His sweet nature means he will make a wonderful only pet or companion to another cat. See him cuddling with his foster siblings? Picture in comments below. Pure love! 💕🐾 Doc is 14 weeks, black and white, medium coat. Vaccinated, dewormed, tested for FeLV and FIV. Not yet neutered, will be microchipped at the time of neutering. We would especially love to see him adopted before kitten season starts so there will be room for us to take in others like him.
Please fill out his adoption link below
We are asking $100 donation towards Animal Foster Network ☮️🐾

Doc tested positive for Feline Immunodeficiency Virus (FIV) but our vet said it could be a false positive and will need another test in a few months to be sure. However, FIV is not a big deal. Given proper care and attention, an FIV+ cat will live the same lifespan of any other cat. The disease is extremely hard to transmit from cat to cat. It is not transmittable to humans.

Please complete all fields. Completion of this application does not guarantee the adoption of an animal. Estimated time to complete is 10 minutes. ***** WE DO NOT SHARE OR SELL YOUR INFORMATION, THIS IS FOR APPLICATION USE ONLY *****

This sweet female border collie mix puppy (with the heart around her) needs a foster home as soon as possible! Her mom looks like a pure boarder collie. She is currently 8 weeks old and thriving. Our foster application and Venmo for the vet bills are linked below 👇
As a reminder fostering means we cover all medical and training needs. With this puppy, we are also wanting to cover a spay for the mama dog too 💕
