Very sad day for us on the Scanuary, a few months ago we were blessed to help, three over 12yrs old very bonded girls! When l received a frantic call from Jennifer Lee, that she needed a perfect home for these sweet girls, of course l agreed! Kamala AKA skinny Barbie, was so much smaller in size and weight as her sisters ( they are chunky) after visiting Airport Animal Hospital, we found out that Karmala AKA skinny Barbie, had liver and thyroid problems, we tried meditation, that seem to help in the beginning, she would let me give her, her medicine thru a little baby bottle, loved being held in a warm blanket, like she was a baby all over again, Two days ago, when she refused her bottle l thought maybe she was just not hungry or Didn't want it just then, the night Before she was walking down 14 stairs to hang with old man Joe(14 yr old lab) just sitting by his side , watching the other cats play, wasn't lying down, she was sitting up, so inquisitive, and my first thought was this medication is working. Unfortunately when I came home that afternoon to check on her, I tried to give her a her medication in her bottle , also tried giving her water and some food, when I realized she didn't want anything I know it's time to go to the vet, this time, we went right to Tufts Hospital, they gave her an IV of fluids, while they were waiting for the blood results, that's when they realized that her liver numbers were not good, this is when I had to make a tough decision, and let her go, I might have only had her for 2 months, which was the best two months of my life, I felt like I had it for 12 years she was so loved and gave so much love back, I am heartbroken, this is our first loss at the sanctuary, the mornings seem so different that she is not wrapped in a warm blanket being fed by a bottle enjoying her medicine then off to her soft and hard food, she would turn and look at me. I will always remember her. May my little Kamala AKA skinny Barbie , know how much she was loved, and what impact she brought into my life. Someday, if my dream come true, to have a cat sanctuary on my property it will definitely be in memory of her. Rest in peace my little girl
