This is Skronkles! We’ve posted about him before but he’s just doing so well. When we found him he crawled out of a sewer and was very very timid, with dirty fur and bad skin. Since he decided he wanted to live inside he’s gained a lot of weight and had a much better coat. We don’t know how many more days he’ll have as he’s old, but all his days will be filled with love

These two are Sabo and Ace. They’ve had a rough go of things and have lost some of their siblings. Sabo took to coming inside where things were nicer, and even though Ace was lonely he didn’t want to come in. Eventually he came in, and was welcomed by other kitties. Now he is safe and sound with his brother and lots of new kitty friends!

This is the famous Mama Lady! She is responsible for at least 9 of the kittens we’ve taken care of after they got big and after years of trying we finally caught her and got her fixed. She’s been resting inside, but shows little to no inclination to go back outside. She also seems to think some of these kitties inside are familiar but she just can’t put her paw on it.

This Belle-mere, the mama to 5 of the kittens we’ve posted about vicariously. She’s not had an easy life, being on the streets for most of it. These days she’s inside, she can sleep soundly knowing she’s safe, knowing there’s food, and her kittens are safe too. This is her first Christmas with us, and she, along with the other cats, got toys. She spent over an hour playing and fussing with her new toy mouse before curling up with some of her babies. All cats need love, some have just never known the pleasures of being safe and having a toy to play with.

It’s been raining lately and for us it naturally rains cats and kittens as well! These 4 have popped up in our backyard and are taking shelter in and under our storage shed. Mama is not far from them and they are starting on solid food.

For those not in the know this is Nami, who we managed to get to the vet and was diagnosed with panleukopenia, a very serious illness in younger kitties. After a ton of care by Gankoji, Nami is showing some small signs of recovery! We hope she continues to pull through and can be reunited with her sister very soon!

TW, I guess? Discussion of kitty illness, photo of kitty with IV.

Nami is doing her best to troop along. Koji’s days start at 7am right now, as Nami needs medicine and IV fluids daily. She’ll need fluids until she starts eating on her own.

She has to get an anti-nausea pill, after which we have to wait 45 minutes or so before stringing her a small amount of A/D (critical care) food.

It’s important to take time to be with her, as it’s actually quite critical to recovery that these kitties aren’t alone. Depression is a major factor in the illness, and she needs to know she’s loved.

She is a master biscuit maker who loves pets and the little bath she gets with a cool towel.
