Is anyone in need of a "feel good" story today?🐰
Several weeks ago, there was a post circulating amongst rabbit groups in the community about a "Free bunny cage." Sadly, the cage (tiny prison) was home to a Dutch X bunny at the time. The lister indicated that the rabbit would come with the cage since he never left it.
What she didn't indicate in her post was the reason why he wouldn't leave the cage - the truth.
In the beginning, the rabbit was bought from a breeder farm as a pet for her children. In the end, the family decided to purchase a Cane Corso puppy on a "whim".
Fact: Cane Corsos are large working dogs with a high prey drive and had the adults done their research, they would have learned that the breed is not the most suitable for households with small animals, or small children for that matter. As the inevidable would have it, bunny was terrified of the dog and wouldn't leave the safety of his cage.
One last irresponsible decision to add to the rest...bunny had to go.
Luckily, one of our foster volunteers who lives in the area was able to connect with the owner, and wasted very little time with the meeting arrangements. It was obvious first come first serve would close the deal on the free cage and bunny. Without any hesitation, bunny was being packed up to go. A bittersweet moment suddenly surfaced. While the bun we now know as Mr. Bean was on his way to a new beginning, the young child who dearly loved him was left in tears while witnessing his removal from the home. Mr. Bean was not the only one who suffered from the decisions of irresponsible adults, but we did say this is a feel good story!
Mr. Bean has been living his best life in his new, forever home with our foster who couldn't turn him away. Of course, we can relate to foster fails. Over the last few weeks, his true personality has become reflective of the new chance in life he was given. His personality is described as fun-loving and entertaining. He can often be found

📣 First Up - Raven - Adopted
Raven is such a ham! Really, she is. 🐹
She is just over a year old and arrived to us from Windsor/Essex County Humane Society.
Hamsters have a short life span of 2-3 years, and therefore finding their forever family sooner than later is imperative for maximized companionship. Raven has been health checked and will come with a care package upon pending adoption. Raven is very friendly and can often rock an epic case of bed head when climbing out of her burrow. Please connect with us to find out more about Raven! 🧡
Handcrafted Dragonfly Portrait up for grabs in our raffle!
Take a look at our new bonding services!
📍 Servicing Oxford County and surrounding areas.
🗒 We often hear that bun parents don't have the time to bond and therefore, their buns continue to live separately. Realistically, 2 separate buns take twice the time as one bonded pair.
We offer informative guidance with a protocol that results in minimal stress for both you, and your buns. We ask that you start off by reserving only 10 minutes a day for the purpose of bonding. This can easily be incorporated into your daily routine.
Most importantly, your buns can remain in the comfort of their own home where they are happiest, rather than in an unfamiliar environment with you missing them!
Feel free to contact us for a more detailed overview of the program. 🧡
