Georgia is pregnant with her last litter. She was supposed to get spayed, but we decided (as a family) that we want one of her and Oakley's puppies. She is due on April 5th. Please let me know if you are interested.

Today is a very sad day. I learned that a puppy from Georgia’s first litter is having health issues. It has hip dysplasia, arthritis and other problems. Before the puppy was adopted at 2 months old, its hips, shoulders and elbows were checked for abnormalities. None were found. He weighed 16 lbs when he left our home. At 4.5 months old, the puppy weighed 71lbs and 95lbs at 5 months. The vet diagnosed him at have fast growing syndrome. I am unclear why the puppy wasn’t put on a diet and taken off puppy food, as I recommend in the letter that goes home with all my puppies that the puppies transition to adult food by 3 months.

Please, please, it is important that all giant breed dogs grow slowly. You can always fatten them up after 2 years old (& they aren’t growing anymore) if you want. It’s still not healthy for the dog, but at least the joints should be fine.
