‼️‼️ DAYCARE POST ‼️‼️

Thank you all who have been very patient with us this year as we are going through a temporary closing of Daycare services. We are currently in the process of reworking the service and plan to reopen March 2025.

With that being said, I would love your input on a few things to help make as many people as happy as possible. If you are interested in being kept in the loop on updates - please copy/paste into comments and answer these questions:

1. What time frames work best for you for pick up and drop off? (PLEASE GIVE A 30m - 1H window AM AND PM ONLY)

2. How many dogs would you be interested in enrolling? (even if I know you and your crew, please answer this!)

3. How many days per week, and what days are most important to you?

4. Are you more interested in a daycare package or pay as you go?

** COMING SOON FOR ADOPTION! **
Sweet Etta is 8 weeks old and had a rough start to life. She was separated from her litter and given away from the back of a pickup truck at just 5 weeks old. We were told mom is a dachshund. She appears to be mixed with maybe schnauzer or some wirehair terrier but that is just a guess.

Etta is currently 4-5 lbs and will likely* (again, another guess) stay under 20 lbs.
She is feisty, sweet, adventurous and takes the world for everything it has to offer! She plays with the huskies like she is one of them, and cuddles up to the baby like that is exactly where she is supposed to be (after trying to taste his toes of course ;) )

She is used to her crate and we are making progress on housetraining. She loves toys, snacks, and rolling in the grass.

If we weren't about to have a newborn, I would keep her as part of our pack.

- I'm asking that she live with another dog. Not necessary for her well-being but she LOVES them and loves to play.
- Preferential treatment to/for existing clients.
- She will be spayed before I let her leave, so she can't go home until that is done.

Today marks the official start of my maternity leave, but I haven't posted consistently in so long that I have tons to catch up on! Throughout the next 7 weeks I'll be posting older photos of recent guests that never made it to the page :)

Thank you guys for your support and understanding as I take some time off in anticipation of the arrival of our second son! I already am wondering how I'll survive with "down" time without all my furry friends around.. a lesson I could always use a refresher on, maybe one day it'll stick ;)

We open back up August 26th, so feel free to send me your boarding requests - but please be patient with possible slower responses over the coming weeks.

Just a friendly reminder we will be CLOSED from July 4th - September 1st and there are no boarding dates available for the months of July and August.
We WILL be open for the remainder of the year with the exception of September 20-22!

Christmas dates are booking fast, so if you will be traveling for the holidays please reach out sooner rather than later.

I try to always remind people, you don't LOVE every human you ever meet and that's OKAY. We cannot and should not expect dogs to love every dog they meet.
Dogs also get overstimulated, have preferences and need time and space to themselves.
My personal dogs do amazing sharing their home and yard and playing every day. That is because they are in controlled play groups and still get crate time, alone time, and separate yard time to avoid being overstimulated. There have only been a handful of dogs my dogs dont like for no particular reason, but, this is *normal* !

To save the you the rollercoaster ride of emotions - this post has a happy ending!

Whether it is with us, or any other boarding facility/sitter it is SO important to book with someone you trust and that has your dogs best interest, always.

We have watched Dash off and on since his owners got him at 8 weeks. Although we don't see him super often, we know him well enough to know what is normal and what isn't.
2 evenings ago Dash was in his crate and started making some weird noises, upon checking on him his balance was off and he was abnormally aggressive at me through the crate. When I opened his crate door he went into a seizure - this has never happened before.
I grabbed my phone and immediately called his family and talked them through what was happening while making sure Dash was safe (as possible) during the seizure. In less than 10 minutes Dash was able to regain function of his body but his behavior was still off.
The next day we spent 3 hours at the emergency vet making sure Dash was normal and healthy and happy. Thankfully the medical experts think that it was just a rare/bizarre one off and he got a clean bill of health.

Why am I making this post?
Not to praise ourselves. I am sharing this as an important reminder that who you leave your pets with matter. I am not licensed in animal medicine or behavior nor do I have a degree in either. BUT, I have been in the business long enough to know more than the basics, I care enough to know and to act when something is not right with your pet, and as many times as I've tried - I can't get away from my passion for animal care.

Whomever is entrusted with your pets should know them and what is/isn't normal for them and be open with communication with you as things are happening (NOT as an after thought).
That is something you should look for in your care provider for your pet.
We are not the right fit for everyone. But, everyone that we do care for get round the clock care and their health will always come first.

What we do matters and it is absolutely OKAY for you to ask questions and walk away if you don't feel your care provider would do whatever is necessary to keep your pet safe while watching them. You can never predict emergencies

While we understand some small dog owners prefer their dogs to stay around dogs their size, all of our big dogs guests are even-tempered and good around small dogs, and babies ;)
We make sure our environment is not only fun but SAFE for all who stay with us 🥰

Happy Friday morning from Uzi and Royal who are 2 pups that are THRILLED for the first real snow of the season! As a few reminders: ❄️ It is bitterly cold so please keep your pets trips outside short. ❄️Regularly check paw pads for snow burn/cuts/dryness. ❄️If you see someone who has a dog chained up with no protection, please report it! ❄️Our husky and other winter climate fur friends love this weather and have a higher tolerance, but they do get cold too. They should also have access to escape the cold when ready. And lastly, bundle up and enjoy this snow day!

I’ve always cared strongly for animals of all shapes, sizes, ages and species! My passion for them led me to many jobs caring for them where I have studied behavior, worked in animal welfare, vet offices, and boarding facilities. There isn’t an aspect of the animal world I don’t have experience with. My dream has always been to have my own business providing top quality pet services to all the animal owners out there! I believe strongly in the safety AND happiness of each pet. Every animal has different needs, whether it is biking for 5 miles or snuggling on my lap watching a movie. Right now, Run, Wag, Learn is in the comfort of my home with big dreams of opening a facility within the next few years without sacrificing the personalized care to each pet.
