Hello! I’m a new owner of an AG. He’s a 6 year old old, who hasn’t really been touched other than to put in his cage. He was also kept outside under a carport. He’ll let me pet his head for a few seconds but other than that nope. I just picked him up tonight. But from what I was told was he’s not tamed but not wild either, that’s what the owner that gave me him told me… He had two other owners and it hurt me to hear that he’s been thrown from one house to another, I know they’re a lifelong companion and commitment and I’m willing to work with him forever.. So my question is is there anyway to retrain him and to rebuild his trust? I’ve heard so many different stories about them that I honestly don’t know what to think. I have a Sun conure that I’ve had to gain her trust and she was 10 years old when I got her and I’ve been working with her too, which she’s coming around a lot. Thanks for your time on reading my post and any advice that you can give me.♥️
Ps. He’s very caged territorial. Once he’s out of his cage he’s a lovebird only reason why I know this is because my friend came over and made him come out and I held him for about an hour.😆 he was also purring
