As llamas are flock animals, Larry is need of a home with other llamas or alpacas . His age is unknown but he is thought to be over the age of 4.

He comes to a bucket of feed and gets along with sheep .

He walks fine on a head collar.

He is in good health .

A shock to us all this morning.

Unfortunately, we had found Dino had passed away in his sleep. Only last night, he was running around being mischievous with his friends as he always was .

This is the sad part about rescue, especially abandoned animals, a lot of the time, we have no background information on them so don’t know their age/previous medical needs ect.

At least in the final weeks of his life, he was running free in a big pen with his new friends doing what rabbits should do instead of being confined to a small space for the rest of his life.

Thanks to all who helped fund his neutering, feed and enrichment.

Big thank you to Cavan and Brian Maguire for coming out to shear Shaun today .

He looks and feels much better .

After Brian cut his fleece away, we could see that Shaun had previously had untreated flystrike (maggots) that had eaten away at his skin and left scar tissue behind.

This is one of the reasons that sheep need to be shorn and treated with an ectoparasite preventative annually .

Big thanks to Olivia, Darren and Sarah for assisting in the rescue and transportation of Larry and Shaun this evening…

I am very much looking forward to tomorrow where Shaun the sheep will have his many years of matted fleece shorn.

Although a bit late on in the year to shear, the matted wool is majorly compromising Shaun’s welfare, he is struggling to walk and is exhausted from lugging the wool even just a few feet. He will be wearing a nice, cosy warm rug to keep him from getting a chill once shorn.

Hello,

We are currently involved in a rescue case where we need your help.

Can anyone or does anyone know of someone who can shear a single sheep that has not been shorn for a couple of years, if not more ?

We also require someone with a trailer/horse box to move 2 animals from one field to another in Brierfield . The fields are about a 5 min drive from each other . We will load and unload the animals . Preferably the animals need to be moved some point this week .

I would like to say a big thank you to all who have donated off the back of Jane Lousie Ramsey’s funeral.

Jane, who unfortunately passed away a couple of weeks ago, was a supporter of our rescue, had an extremely large heart and a passion for animals.
