The video I am about to share with all of you, well it is the most beautiful and amazing video I have seen in a long while. Bear with me as I paint this picture for you...
Back in June Chasin' Tail Rescue was asked to help other rescues with a hoarding case in Page County, VA. There were 60+ dogs living in hideous conditions, receiving zero vet care, barley being fed and breeding at alarming rates. These animals had zero socialization with humans beside the one mentally disabled care giver. CTR was able to help one litter of puppies get off the property in June. We do not leave parents behind and we committed to taking their momma, Cece into rescue as well (another rescue took Daddy). Unfortunately Cece couldn't be caught and transported the 1st time on the property and she wasn't able to come to get off the property & into her foster until July.
When Cece arrived into her foster home she was terrified of everyone and everything, she was so scared of the world outside of that dirt pen. She couldn't go outside in the fenced in backyard without a leash because she would burrow under buildings to get away and hide. You couldn't pick her up to comfort her. Her safe place was her crate.
Cece slowly started getting getting used to her furry foster siblings and began taking cues from them and interacting with them, she trusted other animals more than she did humans. After a few months Cece got more comfortable and was able to start exploring on her own outside and even laying on the couch with the whole family, but she was never comfortable enough to stay and let someone show her affection.
Cece's amazing foster family didn't push her EVER. They let her do her own thing on her own time in her own way and it has paid off!! 4 months after coming into rescue Cece has finally gotten her 1st booty scratches and pets outside of her safe place, the crate, she willing stood there and even came back for a little more!!!
Keep following along for more of Cece's journey and
