Uhm, did someone say ADOPTED!? This one of a kind girl landed herself an amazing home with another pup to go on adventures with. โฅ๏ธ
12/06/2024
We donโt understand how this girl is still with us. She LOVES people - all people. She has the sweetest personality and just wants to be where you are. She would make an amazing little adventure buddy. She walks well on a leash, travels well in the car, is crate trained, and is potty trained. She is an amazing dog all around. So, how do we still have her? She does have epilepsy, but that is managed by daily medication. She can be a little sassy toward other dogs, but once introduced properly she does fine - her best friend is a border collie mix. She doesnโt mind the older cats in her foster home. Want to know more about Juniper? Reach out!

Tfw youโve been up for adoption for a while and no one has adopted you yet.
Juniper is a fun, loving, and energetic Italian greyhound mix looking for a new home. She does have epilepsy and is on medication that helps control it.

Guess who has made it to the adoptable list. Trevor is the sweetest, most grumbly, and quirky old boy. Heโs an 8 year old shih tzu that LOVES his toys and prefers his food out of a bowl (heโs graduated from the floor to a placemat).
Trevor loves being by his people, being carried in a sling, and pulling all the toys out of the toy box. He gets along with dogs of all sizes, doesnโt mind cats or chickens, and would do best in a home with older children.

Hello, I unfortunately need to rehome my senior dog Rambo.
Rambo is a senior dog that 12 and has seizures that are managed with medication. He has frequent vet visits to check his labs and eat a low fat diet due to having pancreatitis. Heโs a sweet loving 13lb whippet mixed Pomeranian. Iโve had him his entire life, but due to his seizures I had to move him into my mothers for more monitoring. I work in California, where the majority of my day is sitting in traffic, which was neglectful to Rambo. So he is now in Nevada where my mother lives.
Please contact his current owner via phone at 775-342-9490 or email at [email protected].

Have you met our most charismatic foster dog ever? Sheโs the sweetest lover of all people and will have you wrapped around her little paw in no time.
Juniper is a 5 year old Italian Greyhound mix. She is a special needs girlie with epilepsy that is managed with daily medication. She loves people, tolerates cats, and would do best in a home with no other or one other, bigger dog. She is very active and would love an exercise buddy.

Our girlies with the ears. โฅ๏ธ Someone out there has got to want to bring them home. Miss Liona is 10 years old and just wants a place to lay - sheโd be happiest next to you on the couch. Juni is our charming wild child that loves all people.

Juniper hopes youโll stop by to see her this Saturday from 10-2pm. โฅ๏ธ

Liona and Juniper are our two adoptable girlies. Liona is a 10 year old girlie that just wants her own human and a comfy place to sleep. Juniper is our special needs girl with epilepsy (managed with medication) that is dog selective and very active. If youโre interested in meeting them, you can come visit them on April 20th at off of Robb Dr.

A little update on Miss Juni.
This girl had her first seizure with us on Sunday. While it was very alarming when it happened, she bounced back from it very quickly and was back to her normal self - zooming around and terrorizing the other dogs in her foster home. She has been seen by our vets and got bloodwork done, which came back completely normal.
At this point, we have put her on a daily medication and are continuing to monitor her. The goal with the medication is to is to keep her seizure free. Our vets would like to check her bloodwork again in a couple months.
What does this mean long-term for Juniper and her adoption status? Juni is currently available for a foster-to-adopt situation. Now that we have got her started with treatment, we want to ensure she is on the right track. Weโre confident that after her next round of bloodwork, she will be ready to have any adoption finalized. Her epilepsy is something that will need to be managed for the rest of her life, and thereโs a chance that as she ages her medication will need to be adjusted. So, itโs important that any potential adopters are prepared for this.

This girl is FULL of personality. Juniper adores all people and has energy for days. She would make an amazing outdoor adventure companion.
Weโre currently monitoring her for seizures as we were told she does have epilepsy. So, we are currently looking for a foster-to-adopt setup for her so that we can get her any necessary treatment for this.

Tell me this isnโt the cutest little lady. Ten year old Liona is patiently waiting for her forever home. Interested in providing a cozy bed and lap for Liona to lay in? Message us!

Trevor
Age: 8 years | Breed: Shih Tzu
Dogs: Yes | Cats: Yes | Children: 12+
Special Needs: None
Adoption Status: Undergoing Medical Care
Trevor is another owner surrender to Henryโs House. He came to HH with a face full of hair, that unfortunately caused a severe eye ulcer. He is currently undergoing care for the ulcer, but if it doesnโt resolve with medication we will need to move to a more aggressive treatment.
For the first three weeks of being with Henryโs House his foster parents fought tirelessly to try and get this boy to eat a full meal. They tried every type of food, every type of bowl, every type of topper, heating his food, and even hand fed him at times. Want to know how this boy prefers his food? Thrown on the floor. So, keep that in mind if youโre considering adopting this boy. All his meals must be provided to him on the floor.
Trevor is very quiet and aloof. He enjoys being your little shadow, following you wherever you go. He also enjoys quietly playing with a variety of toys by himself. He enjoys car rides and going on adventures. Pretty much wherever you are he is happiest.

Juniper
Age: 5 years | Breed: Italian Greyhound/Chihuahua X
Dogs: No | Cats: Yes | Children: 8+
Special Needs: Epilepsy
Adoption Status: Available to Foster to Adopt
Juniper came to Henryโs House after her owners determined they could no longer provide the best home with her epilepsy. We were told that her last seizure was around 6 weeks ago, and she has not had one to date in our care. At this point, we are monitoring her. But, due to her epilepsy we are looking for a quiet home without young children.
Juniper adores people of all ages and thinks everyone is her friend. She has lots of energy and enjoys zooming around the yard. But be careful, this girl is a runner, sheโs a trackstar - if given the opportunity she will take off. And she believes it is a game. Also, have you noticed the legs on this girl? She can jump, and especially loves to show her hops around feeding time.
Though she is currently in a foster home with other dogs, she would do best in a home all by herself. She is a very dominant girl and she will throw paws with other dogs when given the chance. So a home where the diva can be the center of attention is best.

Meet the newest kiddo to join HH. Miss Juniper is a 5 year old girlie that suffers from epilepsy. Weโre still learning all of her little quirks, so stay tuned as she settles in and we learn more about her.

We have a couple kiddos that will be ready to find their forever homes here in a couple weeks. Just in time for the Reno Pet Show being held at the Reno/Sparks Convention Center March 22-24th.
Liona is a darling little 10 year old maltese mix. She gets along with other dogs and cats. Sheโs truly content just finding a cozy spot to lounge. She just had a dental and mass removal, so she will be ready to find her forever person here shortly.
Trevor is an 8 year old shih tzu. This aloof, quiet little boy is happiest wherever you are. He will be your little shadow and sit by your feet. He will be visiting our vet soon for a wellness check.
Additionally, we will be welcoming three additional dogs to the Henryโs House family:
Juni, who we have done a courtesy post on previously, will be joining us this weekend, weather willing.
Then we have two young minpin mixes that have severe neurological issues and tremors. These little ones will have a long road ahead of them, which will likely include physical therapy. They will be joining us once we get their specialized setups (if anyone has a couple pack-n-plays they no longer need, please message us) ready for them.
As always, we appreciate the support our community provides our little rescue. โฅ๏ธ

***COURTESY POST: This pup is not with HH. Please call or text the number listed below for more information or to meet Juni.***
Juni is a 5 year old italian greyhound/chihuahua mix weighing 14 pounds. Juni has epilepsy, and her medical needs exceed what I can provide to her as a mother with young children. She is a very lovable, snuggly dog who prefers to spend 90% of the day snuggled under a blanket or laying in the sun. She loves to play with toys and run in a fenced in yard.
She could be okay with other dogs if properly introduced but she has never been around cats. With her epilepsy I prefer Juni go to a home with no children or children 8+ as i feel young kids cause her more stress and more intense seizures.
Please reach out with any interest or for more questions about this sweet girl via text or phone call to 812-391-0788.

Meet the newest addition to the Henryโs House family, Liona. This shy girl is a ten year old maltese mix whose previous owners could no longer care for.
Liona has only been with us for a few days, so weโre still getting to know her. She goes into our vet this weekend to get checked out - she has a small mass on her back and a yucky mouth. But, stay tuned as we learn more about Miss Liona. โฅ๏ธ

As 2023 comes to a close, we at Henryโs House would like to take a moment to reflect on this year.
We know things have been awfully quiet with us the last few months, but we had to take a minute for ourselves and process the losses weโve experienced. This year we lost Albert and Dickens within a few weeks of each other and then our founder lost two of her personal dogs. All within a month span. When you do rescue for so long (17+ years) you tend to become numb to loss, until youโre not. So, we took the last few months to pause, regroup, and process.
This year was not all bad though. We had some long-term fosters get adopted. We traveled out of state to save dogs. And we helped dogs heal from horrific circumstances. We could not be more grateful for our adopters who have opened their homes to senior and special needs dogs, and are loving them as much as and more than we do.
And then there are our supporters. Those that donate to and share our mission. Without you, we could not do what we do. We have nothing but gratitude for our little community.
But, as we enter 2024, we want to do more to not only help senior and special needs dogs, but to also help our community. We have some goals for 2024 that we canโt wait to share and we are hoping to be able to help even more dogs. Thank you for sticking around with us. โฅ๏ธ

How about a Scarlett and Cinnamon video? The girls are slowly making progress. From not being able to get their legs under them to running across the grass.
Note: This video shows the extent of Bernadetteโs injuries, which still includes two healing open wounds. Nothing brings this little girl down! Weโve had a lot of interest in Miss Bernadette whether it be adopting her or fostering or fostering-to-adopt. At this time, Bernadette is not ready for that next step and is settling in at her current foster home. She has more healing ahead of her in addition to needing to be spayed. Please be patient and know that we will keep everyone updated. As a reminder, we do not handle adoptions on a first come, first served basis - we work to find the perfect fit for each dog that comes into our care.

๐ป๐๐๐๐๐๐ค was having a moment this weekend. ๐ค Did you meet this sweet boy at the home show this weekend? ๐ป๐๐๐๐๐๐ค is a lover and just wants to be near his humans. We are looking for a ๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ก๐๐ for this boy to spend the rest of his days. He has been in and out of the vet since he first came to Henryโs House back in August. First, it was a major dental and small mass removal. Then it was a chronic eye infection, then it was another fatty mass removal and being diagnosed with chronic dry eye (he will be on eye drops for the rest of his life), now he will be going in for more blood work to determine the cause of some hair loss. With a ๐๐๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐ก๐๐, Henryโs House will provide for ๐ฎ๐น๐น of his ongoing care, including food and veterinary expenses. Just a little Buttercup update. Sheโs been on steroids for almost two weeks now, but there hasnโt been any change in her mobility. Weโll be asking our vet for a referral to physical therapy and looking into getting this girl some wheels. This girl continues to be unfazed by it all and gets around pretty well. She loves to burrow, snuggle, and be loud and bossy. A typical little dachshund.
Dickens isnโt quite ready for adoption. He had a major dental and benign fatty masses removed several weeks ago. But now he has one near his eye that is causing him some trouble. Weโll be making an appointment for the vet this week so we can hopefully get this talkative boy one step closer to finding his forever home. To make a tax-deductible donation toward the veterinary care of the pups, like Dickens, that make their way to Henryโs House, please visit www.tinyurl.com/HenrysHouseDonate
