Here is the news I want to share with everyone... But 1st I want to thank all my followers who have supported me since I started my business in December of 2021. Thank you for all of your support! Especially my students! This week was their last week of lessons.

Now here is the news, On August 2nd, Special Bond Lessons & Training will be closing for the school year. I am leaving to attend Ellsworth Community College in Iowa! I'll be studying Equine Management where I'll be working with weanlings, yearlings, 2-year-olds, & the lesson horses at the barn. I am very excited to be trying something that I have never done in the horse industry! (breaking in 2-year-olds, handling weanlings & yearlings)

I am also excited to possibly be adding colt-starting to my business!!! In spring, we work with the 2-year-olds. Fall we work with the weanlings and yearlings.

I am happy to finally be sharing this with you! I've been accepted into Ellsworth since May and kept it to myself this long! LOL

But again, Thank you so much for the support and I will hear from you guys next summer!

Sorry I haven't posted since June I've been getting ready for something that I will share with you on July 31st.

But here is a quick little video of Cherokee's session from yesterday! We haven't ridden outside in a long time, so I knew it was time to change it up.

Today I did some ground driving with Dusty. She hasn't done this in about 2 years. My student gave it a try today as well for her lesson.

Today was a great hour and a half training day!!!

Cherokee did some basic ground work outside of the arena. She did pretty well. Little rushy and tense but did calm down after about 20 minutes. Her last 10 minutes she did real good, a nice steady trot pace, her her head not held high and was paying more attention to me than her surroundings.

Now with Dusty,
Dusty has been pulling really hard on her bit for about a month or so. I decided to try her in my hackamore I bought at the Midwest Horse fair this year. She did really well!!! Just add some leg when asking to turn and she'll do it! I'm excited to teach my students how to use leg on her than just relying on the bit.

Cherokee today did some crow hopping. I personally think she is still coping with the lost of Indy the white Arabian gelding that was pastured with her and Dusty.

She'll be off tomorrow as it's memorial day and for her to feel better by Wednesday.

Indy was put to sleep on Tuesday the 21st, Due to old age. He was either 33 or 34 years old.

Such a great ride on Cherokee last night!

She had a week off because of somethings that needed to be done at the barn.

Her trot was very nice, not speedy or irregular speed.
Her canter is coming along well but still in the work of progress.

Cherokee had an easy session today. I lunged her with the surcingle and training aid. And we ended riding ba****ck for 5 minutes. Cherokee hadn't been worked in a week so I didn't wanna go to hard on her today.

I gave a lesson at 1pm today as well.

I will be at the Midwest Horse fair this weekend! Don't be afraid to come say hi if you see me!

Cherokee and I did a fun day at the end of her work session! And also to kill some time as well.
The story has a short 1st clip of me putting the tarp on her back and this video shows us riding with the tarp still on.

Today miss Cherokee decided to be a very sassy mare. She bit me while tacking up but only got clothing, no skin.

I put her on the lunge line because I wanted to get control over her feet. And well she really didn't want to so I showed her who was boss by getting her to move her feet and switching directions. After a good work she caved in and we had a good ride and ended on a good note.

She acted like this yesterday and I gave her the day off thinking that maybe she was just sore because since she sometimes does some wonky moves and falls.

But it's all good now but will be keeping an eye on her for the rest of the week.

Today I introduced Cherokee to the barrel pattern!
I haven't done Barrels since I was around 13 years old. I miss it dearly.

But today was a fun day for Cherokee to try something new.
