"When you first adopt us, you need to commit 2 weeks of total focus. Take time off from work. It's just you and me, baby, building a relationship/a foundation, going on a road trip, building communication/connection.
When I need to walk with you, make eye contact, talk to me, 'Let's go this way, Joey'.... You don't need to shout commands at me. We have superior hearing, remember?
Make eye contact, give me a tap and a hand signal for the direction we're going. 'Let's go this way, Joey.'
A leash is for safety, not for dragging."
