Around the end of year 2014 into 2015 is where I was introduced to a brumby which I never new about brumbies! I was offered this fella Painted Apsley Erin Tango. He was very weary and unsure about humans. With a lot of work and patience on my end we achieved a lot. We learnt a lot together from ground work and breaking him to saddle with the help of a breaker I worked for who taught me to break him in myself. And those who are asking are they trainable and are they safe. Well yes just like any other breed of horse they are trainable. Treat them with respect and they will be your best friend! Would I do it again HELL YESS! Don’t let “wild” or “feral” scare you from our Australian brumbies. Get out there and learn about them whether you’re a horse lover or not. This fella was lucky to be caught with his mum. If it wasn’t for Tango and his mum Erin for being caught I wouldn’t have my beautiful mare 💙🐎❤️🥰🙌🏼
