Saw this beauty this week. The sweetest Peruvian Inca Orchid!

Hairless breeds like her can have issues with comedone, milia and cyst formation. Secondary infection can occur as well. My goal with these cases is to treat any infection and help reduce the follicular plugging to reduce the discomfort and inflammation. And of course to make her pretty again.😍

Have the best story to tell!

For the past few years in December, me and my work besties try our best to finish work in Evansville quickly so we can stop at Santa's Candy Castle in Santa Claus, Indiana.

Well today, we were excited to go but had a little hiccup at the end of the day and It was looking doubtful. We arrived at the castle 4 minutes before close and they were so accommodating and happy to have us there. The owner, Kevin, remembered us from two years ago and was thrilled to see us again.

He is the epitome of someone who loves what the do! A real life W***y Wonka ☺️. The joy he had telling us about imported candies and their histories was palpable.

Definitely recommend the ride up to this gem.

So glad we made It and looking forward to next year!

For Halloween, let’s talk about one of my favorite creepy tumors!

This is an Infundibular keratinizing acanthoma! Also called a keratoacanthoma. They can grow a keratin plug and are common in German Shepherds, Keeshounds and Lhasas(uh oh Guri!).

Though benign, they can be bothersome and can get secondarily infected and painful. Surgical removal is often needs AND outside of Halloween not many dogs want witches warts on their skin! 😆

Happy Halloween!

Sometimes I am able to bring the family with me when I speak at conferences, but this was the FIRST time I brought the kids by myself without Forrest. 😬

It was their fall break and we love the and their water park so It seemed like a good adventure. I was assured that the conference was family friendly and It was true! They had twice daily activities for the kids and a play area. It was so nice to see kids of all ages with their vet moms and dads.

While I spoke, my three critters were sitting in the far back left of the lecture hall. They did so well staying in their seats only coming up during the breaks to say hi to me while I was answering question from the attendees. The conference organizers kept them loaded with snacks and they were great! And one wonderful human played with them organizing a relay race at the every end of my talks. Thank you to whoever you are….sad we didn’t get to me but my children loved you!

Grateful for this experience and for being able to bring my kiddos. The attendees were so attentive asking thoughtful questions during the lectures and afterwards. The kindness was palpable. Thank you and

I love all creatures and this little guy had a special place in my heart. He made me love opossums due to his sweet personality and cuddliness.

Starting at midnight is the Give for Good campaign. Please consider giving to my favorite wildlife rescue organization, . They rescue, rehab and if possible release wildlife important to our local ecosystem. Every little bit matters to help these babies!

The 10th World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology (WCVD10) did not disappoint! Honored to be a part of this amazing profession and blessed to have been mentored by so many of the best many of whom I call friends.

At my first worlds in 2008, I never imagined I would stand on a stage and present here. To be able to mentor and connect with dermatologists and students around the world is a dream.

Sometimes the worst lies below, but don’t worry, It won’t last forever!

This kitty has the sweetest family who desperately wanted him better and quickly due to new additions being added to the family. He was diagnosed with mycobacteria and has been treated based on DNA sequencing with

Thankfully in just one month he’s already feeling and 👀ing so much better.
