Recently yogi is becoming extremely adept at wrapping himself around posts and lamp posts . Which is all very well if I happen to notice what he has done. If I don't there is much wrenching of my shoulder socket , then a good old stagger backwards by a couple of paces as he stands there assuring me that it is all my fault and why wasn't I taking care, and didn't I notice the stupendous aroma of dog wee around here ?
He never manages to disentangle himself , it is ALWAYS me who has to retrace my steps and 'undo' him.
It his hard being owned by a dog ... Sigh.

It has been a day of mixed blessings for The Boy today.
He knew we were going out but he didn't want to get in the car which makes life a bit of a trial for everyone. Once in there he he musters his very best ' I have just been beaten to within an inch of my life' look and settles in for a good old sulk. I have learned to ignore this as the car thing is for his own good . It is a bit like making a toddler eat his broccoli - exhausting but necessary .
So we eventually get to the pond and he is off like an Exocet missile straight for the swans.
Every time.
This action never fails to amuse and delight him . The swans of course hate him and the Cob hisses and spits at him in a somewhat vehement tone.
Yogi ignores it .
The swan is mystified , he simply cannot understand that any living creature could be so imbecilic . Does this bonehead not understand that he can break a human beings leg with one stroke of his wing ? He glides forward and hisses louder.
Yogi ignores him and turns his back for good measure.
At the sight of Yogi's arse the swan has his dander up good and proper now and gives a good long hiss whilst propelling himself at his target at speed. When he gets just close enough Yogi takes off Rocket Dog style ears flapping and laughing wildly leaving said swan spitting at mid air in a decidedly frustrated manner.
Onward and upwards and Yogi patrols the circumference of the pond. The obvious happens - he leans over just that little bit too far and falls in .
He was shocked.
The water was very cold and he could only get enough purchase on the side of the bank to get half of him out of the water. His Daddy had to pull him out.
All bets were off after that . He was in and out of that pond faster than a fiddlers elbow, chewing the reeds ,finding sticks, blowing bubbles and become highly over excited .
At one point I asked him to calm down , I received the 'long knowing stare' and he simply carried on where he left off.
By the time we got back to the car he was filthy and still insisted on being lifted onto the back seat. Not easy with a wet dog who can anchor his entire five stones to the road whenever he wishes.
Finally he is ensconced , a once happy dog brought down by a joyless car ride home and a good old fashioned chafing from his Mum for his very dirty face .
Cue the Hang Dog Look ....

It has to be said that Yogi is a bit of a wuss.
Today he spotted two snowmen on the Rec. He stood stock still and then slowly stalked them .
Once he had decided that all was inert he attacked. Both snowmen got a proper mauling . Unfortunately he does't understand where they disappear to once he has finished digging them up and sniffs around to see if he can inflict anymore damage .
It all gets a bit boring after that so he throws himself into doing 'Rocket Dog ' around the field and barking his joyous little head off .

Yogi thinks that storm Dennis is brilliant.
lots more water to play in down at Horseshoe Fields and then a little further on a chance for full body submersion when he slipped and fell in. It is fair to say that he actually managed to look shocked, I think it must have been pretty cold in there .
Needles to say he got pretty filthy and had to have his feet washed in the sink when he got home. He blew bubbles in protest .
