UVB is now recommended for all reptiles including Ball Pythons and Leopard Geckos throughout the US pet industry!

Pet Reptiles are the fastest growing sector in the small pet category and are now in over 5% of USA homes and with the positive trend towards better care, all 3 of the big pet store suppliers (Zoo Med, Exo Terra and Zilla) have made UVB standard for all reptiles in their updated care sheets.

Arcadia Reptile was first to move in this direction and this is why you will see language like this in the new care sheets:

"While ball pythons are crepuscular, they do benefit from exposure to UV light during the day as well. UVA and UVB light has been shown to improve the immune system and to promote the health and normal behavior of all reptiles, both diurnal and crepuscular."

PetSmart and Petco have also updated their care sheets too!
