As we know, no two studs are the same - this is especially true with their semen. Some dogs give more "semen" vs "prostatic fluid" and vise versa. All the while, all semen extenders work differently on different dogs and just because one extender works great on one stud doesn't mean it will work on another stud. This is because of the varying ph levels in each stud's semen. Some semen are more acidic and will require a more basic extender. The first picture is of semen that was received chilled. As you can see, the motility and progressive motility is low. The second picture is of the same semen that was spun down in order to separate the semen from the existing extender and re-extended with a different extender. Look at the difference. Luckily, we were able to salvage the semen for our client! The takeaway: For stud owners - this is why it is so important to experiment with your stud and try different extenders. This way, your client gets quality semen = happy client = continued business = we all win! For the purchaser: This is why it is so important to have the semen analyzed via an iSperm before insemination takes place. Microscopes do not tell you the concentration and motility. Having the semen analyzed can save you money and time. Also, having someone that is familiar with the process and is knowledgeable in what to do in the circumstance, is key.
This is not a debate, I am just sharing my knowledge. Knowledge is power, take it or leave it.

I'm so proud of for doing her thing in the ring! There's nothing more satisfying when you see your production in the ring crushing it. GHOST is a MARLEY x GOALS production, he took 2 First place ribbons, Best Male, Best of Variety and Reserve of Show. GHOST is a blue and tan covered in cream carrying cocoa and Isabella, no pied no brindle.

Let's talk about them short back, compact females. This post was sent to me today by another fellow breeder. I have to say that I 💯 agree with this, thus why I always tell people I personally prefer a female with a longer back. Bigger females can carry their pups much easier, it's a given. Yes, there are many short back females that can carry a litter all the way through, but some just aren't that lucky. And if you are like me,and you love and cherish your fur babies, you know that it is extremely hard to lose one of them. I Iost my Skai due this exact reason. Skai was SMALL, her first pregnancy was a singleton and she was HUGE. I bred her again, and we confirmed 4-5 pups in her tiny little body. Well it turned out that her tiny body couldn't handle this many pups😓 If I could turn back the hands of time, knowing what I now know, I would have never bred her. I'd give anything to have her back. Another one of my really close friends just lost his girl due to this exact reason- she almost carried them to full term but fell short by FOUR days! She basically suffocated because as it turned out, she had NINE pups in her, two which were up in her lungs area, making it extremely difficult for her to breed. The doctor confirmed that her body couldn't handle all those pups. This is just a word of caution, spreading awareness on this issue as it is becoming more common due to the way the trend is going. I'm not here trying to cause an argument, take it or leave it, I just love my girls to death and would never want this to happen to anyone else as it is truly heart breaking.

Please know that I also try my best to accommodate your work schedules and take evening appointments, but when you are running late, please be mindful that I have a life & family too & I enjoy my family time just as much as you do. I understand that things happen that are beyond your control, and that's understandable, but lately, these lates and no shows seem to be things that can be controlled. Thank you for your understanding 😊
