To say the late Queen Elizabeth II was very fond of her Pembroke Welsh Corgi dogs could very well be the greatest understatement in the history of the British Empire! These specific canine breed was formerly owned by Queen Elizabeth II and her parents, King George VI and Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother. Fond of corgis since she was a small child, Elizabeth II owned more than 30 corgis from her accession in 1952 until her death in 2022.
They are a cattle herding dog breed that originated in Pembrokeshire, Wales. It is one of two breeds known as a Welsh Corgi. Pembroke Welsh Corgis descended from the Spitz family of dogs. Here are some details about what could be your next family member.

Bear in mind, these are hardy little dogs.
They require only a quick, weekly grooming except in times of shedding. They need to be watched carefully for developing obesity. These adorable dogs are easy to keep and do well with a minimal amount of food. Added weight can be an extra strain on the long, low back.
