Being a groomer for me was the closest I could come to helping pups with out much of the heartbreak that other professions dealt with. While there are still moments of heartbreak, my trade offers me the ability to help educate owners, help care for pups, and hopefully in a way leave something great with all that I have the honor of coming into contact with!
This is Buddy…..he is an AussieDoodle. He came to me as a pup and boy was he a giant tornado in a small dog package lol. I left his momma with a short 2 word answer when she asked the most asked question we as groomer hear, ”How did he do?” My answer…. “Not great!!!!” 😂 We chatted a bit and his next appt was in the books. Fast forward to today 4 grooms later….he is the sweetest and bestest boy. He doesn’t give me any troubles and he stands for his grooming like a real gentleman. He loves to give me lots of kisses whenever my face or head is within reach. He takes all the treats and always leaves looking so handsome.
The reason for the long post is to remind owners that we like to see these pups in regularly for more than one reason. The grooming is easier on us, your pup and your wallet when they are kept up on! But also, so we may build a trusting relationship with these wonderful dogs. I dont just cut hair all day, I love these pups. I take the time to play with them. To get to know them. To make them feel comfortable and to help build their confidence! I comfort scared pups, I play with the excited pups, and I move slow…giving grace and understanding to the scared ones! Buddy is a perfect example of the types of relationships and work this profession actually takes. Just some food for thought…. Here’s handsome Buddy!!🐾❤️
