Want to keep your pet safe from intestinal parasites? Here are some simple steps you can take: 🐶

• Sanitation - Frequently scoop all f***l matter from your pet’s environment.
• Other pets - Do not let your pet contact other pets’ f***l material.
• Wildlife - Do not let your pet contact a wild animal’s f***l material, and do not let them eat wild animals.
• Puppies and kittens - Puppies and kittens should receive an appropriate deworming medication at 2, 4, 6, and 8 weeks of age.
• F***l exams - All pets should have regular f***l exams—at least once per year for adults, and twice per year for puppies and kittens.
• Tick preventives - All pets should be given year-round tick preventives, to avoid tapeworm infection.
• Heartworm preventives - Most heartworm preventives also include protection against intestinal parasites, so all pets should be placed on year-round heartworm prevention. 💊

Intestinal parasites can be prevented with a few precautionary measures. Make sure to speak to your vet about the best deworming

It’s important to regularly check for intestinal parasites in your pet! 🐶

Here’s what you should do:
• Have your pet’s f***l tested during routine wellness visits
• Puppies and kittens should have f***l tests at least twice during their first year
• Adult pets should have a f***l test performed at least once per year
• Notify your vet if you see a tapeworm segment in your pet’s f***s
