In honor of Dusty’s birthday today, I thought we’d do a little flashback to younger years (for both him & me!). When I brought this puppy home, I had big plans for him, but I never imagined just how much he’d change my life. Dog training, therapy work, rally o, tricks, poodles, poodles, and more poodles…he started it all. He has been and still is, the absolute best boy!

Our WCRL rally trial this weekend, hosted by REACH K9, was definitely out of this world!
Chrome earned his Level one Championship, and titled in Level two and Flash Level 1.
Breezy was not up for any specific awards this weekend, but she made a nice showing and collected four legs towards her Level one championship.
I’m very proud of them both!

My oak trees are absolutely dumping acorns in the yard and a couple of the poodles are fascinated by then. With that in mind, I thought I’d send out a friendly reminder that acorns are toxic to dogs if consumed in larger quantities. They can cause kidney failure! A solid “Leave it” and “Drop it” come in handy in situations like these. Definitely best to leave the acorns to the squirrels!!

I’m proud to announce that Chrome (Diamond x Dusty, 2021 litter) passed his AKC Urban Canine Good Citizen test this morning! So he is now: Shimmyrlea’s Hillbilly Deluxe, CGCA/CGCU (pending AKC approval of course). I absolutely adore this big, goofy boy!
