Hey everyone!!
We do not want anyone thinking that Soul Therapy has gone anywhere. Due to us being a new company and the daily increase of costs of life these days, we have been limited to what we can do. Anyway we will hopefully be seeing some progress soon and look forward to the future.
Today however we want to extend our condolences to the community of St. Marys County. St.Marys is our home as it's where my life as a first responder started and I am still very active within the community. As most people are aware, one of our local fire departments has an annual carnival. Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department or HVFD has hosted this carnival for our community for generations. Not only does the community look forward to this yearly, but this is a huge fundraiser for the department. Unfortunately, tragedy struck home a couple of nights ago and there was a shooting at the carnival. This incident resulted in injuries to bystanders, assault on a firefighter who was rendering aid, the death of a young person, and left our home traumatized.
Not only is the community healing but so are our first responders who were at this event, many of them who we know personally. This has also resulted in the FD not opening the carnival back up for this weekend. As far as we are aware, the carnival continuing this year has yet to be determined. The FD members spend countless hours planning and setting this event up and this will impact them financially with the carnival currently being close. So a local ice cream shop known as The Salted Scoop has decided to raise money for the FD with the sales of their ice cream, please read their attached information. Let this be a huge turnout!! come together as a community to eat ice cream, heal and support the ones that protected you that evening.
We send out our love and appreciation to every department that responded to this and every provider on the rigs that night. we know there were multiple departments involved but do not know who. So without trying to leave anyone out our hearts go out, especially to Hollywood Volunteer Fire Department, Hollywood Volunteer Rescue Squad, Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department, St. Marys Sherriffs office, and Maryland State Police, and especially the dispatchers that had to coordinate and respond behind the scenes. Unfortunately, we can only send our love at the moment and not the dogs as we have been hit with covid, However, if any of the local departments are interested please reach out and we can coordinate a visit with an ESA dog once we are off quarantine.
To support the Hollywood Fire Department, The Salted Scoop has decided to dedicate National Ice Cream Day to the firehouse.
Instead of offering our loyal customers a discount we are going to donate a percentage of today’s sales to the Hollywood Firehouse.
No flyer is needed! We are open from 11am-9pm. We look forward to seeing everyone! Let’s make this a great event for our local fire department.
