Today we received a video of Sam.

His tail is wagging already ❤️

We could not be happier.

Good morning all,

Yesterday we received Sam’s X-ray results.

The orthopedist was tested positive for Covid and could not look into it.

He can only have a look after 15 days.

Ps. We have more vet friends advising us as well.

Hi Guys,

Sam won’t be able to have his new surgery as he’s still very weak.

He went to a foster home and once he’s able to have his surgery, we will do it.

We have already paid for one month with the foster and for the taxi to drive him as it’s in another town.

We will launch a gofundme, once we know the costs of his surgery to whom wants to contribute.

We can see in the video that he’s looking better ❤️🐶

Sam was registered on Opensau’s name (the taxi driver who helped us a lot) as they were asking for CPF number and did not accept passports to open his register. I have asked them to change it to my name and I’ll send a picture of my RG.

They Also registered him as San and not Sam 🙈🙈

We thought he was an older dog, so they registered him as 6 years old. After the consultation the vet told us he is 2 years old or less.

Below receipts are from the 1st consultation and procedures and the second picture is from his first surgery (I have asked them by WhatsApp to give us another discount on his surgery and they accepted R$2000,00 and not R$2100,00 and they spayed him for free). We also have paid R$260.00 for the taxi driver (the vet is not in Porto de Galinhas - 1 hour away) and R$60.00 to rent a transport cage to bring him to the vet (R$20 a day - we didn’t catch him on the first day and only returned they after we went to vet as we left the vet nearly at 8pm)

All below/above is already paid and we do not want any money for that. We received 2 donations from two other guests total of R$500,00. Mariana and Ana have covered the balance.

First attempt to rescue Sam, he ran away from us so fast. We could never imagine he had a broken hip and a fêmur in the wrong place.

Sam probably doesn’t know what’s going on, but we will fight for you 🐶

Hi guys, we have created this page to help Sam.

Sam was wondering about in Porto de Galinhas beach (Brazil) very sick and weak.

Ana and Mariana, two guests of a hotel, stepped in to help him. We were watching him for a few days and we could see he had difficulty to p**p. He was very skinny and scared, if we tried to approach him.

First day 05th/01/2021 - We decided to bring him to the vet. They checked his weight and he was only 12 kilos. On the first visit they cleaned his inside out and they removed lots of sand. The vets could still feel lots of gas and sand even after the procedure. Blood tests were done. He was in the hospital for the night. A scan of his belly was requested for day after.

Second day 06th/01/2021 - they did a scan on his belly and was operated on the same day as it was urgent. They removed approx 1 kg of dry p**p from his intestine (that means he was probably only 11 kilos and not 12 kilos). We were advised that he has a straight pelvis making difficult for him to p**p. The vets were thinking that it could be due to a previous accident (maybe hit by a car). They advised us that he would probably need to eat wet food for the rest of his life. He was spayed as well.

An X-ray was requested for day after.

In the meantime Mariana and Ana are looking for a forever home or a foster home.

All the above was R$2620,00 paid by Ana and Mariana plus two donations made by two other guests of the hotel (they donated total of R$500.00)

Third day 7th/01/2021 - the X-ray results were not good. He needs another surgery. His hips are broken and his femur is not in the right place.

A message was sent to a rescue centre in Northern Ireland (Husky Salvation) and they agreed to help us. To look after him and try rehome him if we bring him there.

The vets are going to confirm the costs of surgery. We would like to have him operated tomorrow as we need to pay each day that he’s at the hospital.

We will created a gofundme to raise money for his next surgery and other expenses with medication. We would need to pay someone to look after him for probably 6 months, so he can recover from all the surgery and we can start the process to bring him to Northern Ireland. The costs to bring him (vaccines, microchip, warms, medicine etc).

We are trying to do all we can to help him, but unfortunately we cannot do it on our own.
