Greetings,

The Congressional Research Service would like to share this career opportunity with you and your network.

Analyst in Agricultural Policy
Open & closing dates: 07/06/2022 to 08/22/2022 (new closing date)
Salary: $106,823 - $138,868 per year

The Resources, Science and Industry Division of the Congressional Research Service is seeking an Analyst in Agricultural Policy. The analyst will possess knowledge of the theories, concepts, processes, techniques, principles, and/or practices of agricultural trade, trade agreements, and export promotion and credit programs, as well as international frameworks governing agricultural trade. This includes knowledge of the history, trends, and current status of agricultural trade policy and interrelationships of federal programs and policies with the positions of key state, industry, academic, and nongovernmental stakeholders. The ideal candidate will demonstrate ability to develop expertise in new areas.

This position requires the ability to utilize analytical methods and techniques to analyze policy issues for the U.S. Congress. Applicants should be comfortable with quantitative approaches in research and familiar with policy related to agricultural trade, trade agreements, and export promotion and credit programs, as well as international frameworks governing agricultural trade. Strong writing and presentation skills, including the ability to synthesize complex analyses into easy-to-understand language for a non-technical audience, are required.

CRS works exclusively for the United States Congress, providing policy and legal analysis to committees and Members of both the House and Senate, regardless of party affiliation. As a legislative branch agency within the Library of Congress, CRS has been a valued and respected resource on Capitol Hill for more than a century.

CRS is well known for analysis that is authoritative, confidential, objective, and nonpartisan. Its highest priority is to ensure that Congress has immediate access to the nation's best thinking on public policy issues of interest to its Members and committees.

CRS is fully committed to workforce diversity. Interested applicants must apply online at USAJOBS https://www.usajobs.gov/job/663943300.

Eating locally-grown food is good for our only planet. Every pound of food that you grow, or buy from local growers, offsets up to two pounds of greenhouse gas emissions.

Growing some of your food is good for your family:
- Fresh produce is more nutritious
- You have control of food from seed to table.
- You might save money especially because of higher prices in grocery stores.
- Growing food is an educational and meaningful project for the whole family.
