Hey everyone- JoJo here... Guess What. I’ve been doing amazing holding down my food. I’ve had a hard time following my surgeons strict recommendations of keeping quiet because ya know I just wanna be a puppy and play. I live with a springer spaniel named Daisy who’s become my best friend and I just want to wrestle with her all day. I can’t wait til I’m completely healed and we can just frolic all day long. My Bailey chair is being made and we are waiting for it to be shipped. Maybe we will have better luck with Santa getting it to us than by UPS. I hope everyone is having a great holiday season and I’ll be checking in again soon. Love JoJo ❤️

Hi everyone! JoJo here! I just wanted to update everyone and let you know how well I’m doing! I’m on a lot of pain meds and a little bit of a sedative to keep me calm. I have to spend most of my time in the crate for the next 2 weeks, which I’m not loving, but it will be over soon! I’m keeping all of my food down and getting lots of rest. Thanks to everyone for all of your good thoughts! ❤️🐾

Guess What JOJO family and friends?!!?!

I got to come home tonight!! I started eating my slurry early this morning at UVS. After having my tubes pulled today and monitored very closely all day at UVS they sent me home. And guess what it's my human foster brothers 6th Birthday and it made his day even better! I sure look even skinnier now that my whole left Side of my body is shaved down. But they tell me I will began to hold food down better so I can't wait for that! Well I just wanted to tell all of you that I am ok. I am very tired and have my pain medications on board so I am going to rest here. Thanks to you all for helping me and saving my life!

Our Little Man has made it out of surgery as of about 5 pm! It sure has been a long day waiting!! He will be at UVS for the next few days. It will be a waiting game for now. He has a chest tube in place and needs to be monitored closely for any hemorrhaging and tearing of the esophagus. Don't worry he is getting a lot of pain meds! Please continue to pray for our boy. Thank you so very much. We could not have made it this far without all your support. ❤️

Hi everyone- it’s me JoJo. So my 2 foster moms Anne and Carrie have been working really hard the past few weeks in raising money to help save my cute little self. I have so much love to share you can’t even imagine. I underwent a bunch of tests at the cardiologist last week. Well it turns out I’m kind of a genetic mess. Good thing I’m cute ❤️. Some GSD pups are born with one anomaly which constricts their esophagus and surgery is pretty successful in fixing it (PRAA). Well here it comes. I’m special. I was born with two anomalies. Yes 2. No In this case 2 is not better than 1. This anomaly is not common and rare to operate on. Why?? Well it has a huge blood supply from the aorta to the LF leg. What does this mean?? Well it’s hard to say exactly until the surgeon Dr Bush at UVS actually is in there. He is hoping not to have to ligate this second vessel as it poses great risk for hemorrhage. He is hoping releasing the one ligament will allow enough pressure off his esophagus. There is a lot of “ifs” here. Most likely JoJo will live his life in a Baileys chair to eat with a specialized diet. However this surgery is life or death honestly. He cannot maintain any nutritional intake with his esophagus and would need to be euthanized. He is way to special. He’s a little fighter. We want you to rally with us tomorrow. His big day. Say some prayers. Send some love. Whatever your heart desires. JoJo’s little heart ❤️ loves you all.
