Sunday morning cuddles for dad.
It is with mixed emotions that I write this post.
After a turn of events in November 2023 & a number of unforeseen circumstances, we relocated to Australia (me in March & Grant in May 2024). I was determined that our hard work & efforts regarding our beautifully natured & much loved dachshunds was to continue & it has been a journey so far. There is a lot of time, effort & $$$$ that goes into relocating with 6 furkids in tow & making sure we are legal in Australia as registered pedigree dogs & breeder.
You don't just get registered as a breeder here. I sat an exam which cost $$$ - pretty pleased with a good result, tick✅️ & then needed a breeder property inspection (more $$$), tick✅️.
I was pleased to receive my letter of confirmation this week saying I am now an approved registered breeder in NSW, HOWEVER, we are unable to keep our Kigelia Dachshunds prefix.
We are now to be known as 'TSWALU DACHSHUNDS ". Tswalu means 'new beginnings' & is a Tswana word. Staying with our beloved Africa where our love for its wildlife & heritage is deep rooted, we take our prefix name seriously. Whilst we are very sad to say goodbye to Kigelia (commonly know as the Sausage tree, which is very significant to Grant & I), here is to new beginnings with the same love, care & passion for our dogs & their offspring. We thank our Kigelia extended family for their love & support over the years & welcome you on the Tswalu journey with us.
Eden & Ginny had a wee getaway whilst there brother Leuca was away at a show...Papamoa beach walk 🐾🐾🌊
Loving time with our humans & our mini friends at the KatiKati show weekend....fun walks & sunshine in between shows 🌅
We will be a week old tomorrow.
Part of the fun of raising beautiful puppies for special families is putting together the puppy packs that they go home with 🐾💕
