A client who is not on facebook left me this review today, and it brought tears to my eyes. 💜
“Tricia has been treating my horse Little Girl for over two years. LG has suffered several major injuries and was in constant pain. I was preparing to euthanize her when I decided to try massage therapy. It made all the difference! It is truly amazing what Tricia accomplished in a short time. Now LG is comfortable and content, and it shows in her much more pleasant demeanor! I truly believe Tricia's expertise, coupled with genuine compassion and patience, have helped prolong LG's life. I highly recommend Rejuvenate Bodywork Services to anyone who loves their horse!”

A Wilson-Meagher Practitioner
Office hours and a farrier appointment for my herd this morning, so I thought I’d do one of these.
~Why Wednesday??~
“My horse wants to fall in when we’re circling left.”
“My horse all of a sudden wants to drift after a jump.”
“Any idea why??”
There are a few places I would check, but this could very well be because there is tension in the left longissimus costarum muscle. The longissimus costarum is a long, narrow back muscle that runs parallel and underneath the more obvious back muscle, longissimus dorsi. There is one on each side, and it runs from the shoulder blade to the last rib. It flexes and bends the spine laterally. If the left side is tight, the horse will feel stiffer circling right.
The Wilson-Meagher method of direct pressure, cross fiber friction, and compressions is very effective in releasing this muscle.
This muscle can become tight in deep footing, on a horse with issues in the feet, or a horse with a veterinary issue on the opposite side. I have seen this tighten up when a horse is navigating an arthritis issue as well. Repetitive lateral work can cause tension here, too. Continually asking a horse to change the bend, as in shallow loops and varying direction on the lunge or adding long lining to the program to break up time on a lunge line are some great ways to prevent this muscle from becoming tight.
I am taking new clients, but I am almost always booked about two to three weeks out. Reach out if you’d like to see how my work can help your horse move more freely.

“Stella has had Goose for a couple months now and he is 100% GOOD BOY! We have been so impressed by his steady nature and willing attitude. There was just a few things I thought that could be improved. He was very sensitive to the aids under saddle and over all a bit tense and choppy. He has never offered to be ugly but through his movements I knew Tricia could pin point what the culprit was. Tricia came out and worked on him finding tension in his lumbar area. After his session we put him on the lunge and he acted as if he had never felt such freedom in his movements. Bucking and flying around like a complete ham! I looked at Tricia with wide eyes and explained we haven’t seen this side to him. She assure me he would settle into his new range of motion and sure enough the next day Stella hopped on and he was a complete supple, calm and happy horse. Stella was able to actually put leg on him, adjust his strides and he trotted around absolutely beautifully. Mind blown is an understatement! After just one session we have a loosey goosey Goose! Stella was floored at the difference it made under saddle …. The girl is all smiles. Goose will get his body work on a regular basis now because, WOW. Tricia has magic hands and I can’t wait to see where he is in a few months after seeing the difference after one session. We are so incredibly thankful for Tricia and Rejuvenate Bodywork Services, LLC!
